    Two changes for Leicester

On come Jamie Vardy and Rachid Ghezzal for James Maddison and Daniel Amartey.

I'm sad to see Maddison go but they are two attacking changes...

At least four times the referee has signaled 'play on, advantage' to Leicester when the attacking free-kick would have been the obvious advantage.

    Man Utd 1-0 Leicester

Andreas Pereira has played at the base of the Manchester United midfield and has been fairly anonymous, done nothing wrong, kept it simple. That's a peach of a crossfield ball though! Lovely.

He and Fred have definitely allowed Paul Pogba to play better so far.

Kelechi Ihenacho threatens to run in behind but Eric Bailly does really well to win it.

    Man Utd 1-0 Leicester

Leicester haven't had a shot on target since the 32nd minute. They are about to bring on Jamie Vardy though.

    Man Utd 1-0 Leicester

Both sides get sloppy as Leicester lose it in a dangerous area and then Alexis Sanchez plays a poor ball when United had a man over. A second goal in this game on the cards?

Robin: Man United winning whilst playing badly. Maybe the United of old are back.

Luke: Fred looks a joke for £60m.

Anon: End of this game - Puel will say, we were the better team, we deserved more from this game / this performance. No - Mourinho just gives you that feeling, not the points

Fred caught James Maddison, so the Leicester midfielder has a little nibble back. Nice little battle that one. It's good to see the 21-year-old in the Premier League showing everyone how good he is.

    Man Utd 1-0 Leicester

Romelu Lukaku is sent out to warm up, will he have an impact on this game yet? I reckon Jamie Vardy might. Good play from Alexis Sanchez, switching the ball out wide for Matteo Darmian, who shoots straight at Kasper Schmeichel. Better from the hosts.

  9. YELLOW CARDpublished at 54 mins

    Man Utd 1-0 Leicester

Great tempo to this game. That Fred/Maddison duel is dealt with as the Brazilian is booked for a late challenge and Maddison gets away with some retaliation of his own. Bubbling.

    Man Utd 1-0 Leicester

Fred and James Maddison clash in midfield and the new £47m United man has a telling off from the referee. Maddison is not happy with that challenge.

  11. YELLOW CARDpublished at 51 mins

    Man Utd 1-0 Leicester

Leicester sniffing around the fringe of the penalty area, a shot is charged down, James Maddison keeps it alive but again it's cleared. Wes Morgan then plays a bad ball straight to Alexis Sanchez and Daniel Amartey has to pull him back and take the ineveitable yellow.

  12. Postpublished at 48 mins

    Man Utd 1-0 Leicester

Controlled, patient build-up from Leicester as they go from flank to flank and back again. They are lacking something up top though. Namely Jamie Vardy.

Fred does well to break up the attack and then Marcus Rashford is lightning down the wing and wins United a corner.

  13. Postpublished at 47 mins

    Man Utd 1-0 Leicester

Chance for United as Marcus Rashford drags Wes Morgan out wide and clearly has too much pace for him, he puts the ball in but it's not a good cross and Daniel Amartey is able to easily clear it. That was a real opening, they didn't make the most of that.

Here come the sides once more.

Yep, a very promising 45 minutes from James Maddison there. Room for improvement though, he had one chance and saw David de Gea save it, and lost the ball at least twice in a dangerous area.

For his first 45 minutes in the Premier League though it's a massive tick...

Michael: Maddison is going to be some player. Glad Gareth is watching!

James: I don't think Leicester have been particularly great but United have been so negative. Bizarre performance for a home game. Mourinho's negative football plague spreading further.

CupMatchXI: Maddison looking like the real deal. Surprised to see Leicester controlling the possession - especially after going behind at Old Trafford.

Paul Pogba is the fourth Frenchman to score Man Utd's first Premier League goal of a season, after Eric Cantona (1996), David Bellion (2004) and Louis Saha (2006).

As it stands of course., Manchester United are top of the league.

    They haven't won a title since 2013.
