Man United had a great start with the penalty but Leicester have grown into the game. They look a bigger threat around the United box. The visitors have had the better territorial part of the game.

I'm going to give 15 minutes of that half to Man United but the rest was very even. Leicester have a lot more to give in the second-half if they can continue going at that pace. Kasper Schemeichal has not been tested apart from the penalty and that is down to the players in front of him.

For younger fans who have grown up under austerity and council cuts, a 'library' was a building where you could borrow books and use the internet for free!

They were amazing places. But you had to be quiet in them, hence the away fans' chant there.

The Leicester fans are gunning for United, just like their team has been attacking them on the pitch.

It's fair to say that the fast United start that had the home fans bouncing did not last, and the same can be said about the volume they generated in the opening minutes.

It is the Foxes supporters who made all the noise at the end of the first half, something they pointed out to their hosts just before the break with a prolonged chant of "this is a library".

    Man Utd 1-0 Leicester

Leicester have done well in patches here.

The score is hardly a surprise though.

The Foxes have not won at Old Trafford since January 1998, when Tony Cottee scored the only goal.

Leicester had five shots to United's four in that half and had 54% of the ball. They forced a fine save from David de Gea and new boys James Maddison and Ricardo Pereira were both very good indeed.

United took the lead with an early penalty for handball but haven't done much since. Not a bad showing by any means but Leicester were on top as it went on.

Just looking at that tackle of Eric Bailly on James Maddison, it looked like a scissor tackle. I've produced many of them in my career and I picked up quite a few yellow cards as well.

Well done, Premier League. A very entertaining first 45 minutes of the season. Indeed.

Eric Bailly gets away with a bit of a scissor challenge on James Maddison. His feet were not raised but he was rather out of control.

United defend a free-kick very well again, Leicester have not had a sniff from any of them yet. Can the visitors get another chance before the break?

No bus parking here as Luke Shaw plays a lovely one-two with Juan Mata, great return pass from the Spaniard, a touch of the Cantona to Irwin about that. Shaw kills it, turns inside on to his right foot and drills a shot at Kasper Schmeichel.

Shaw has NEVER scored a goal in his whole career.

The Leicester fans have just supplied the first outing of the season of the "park the bus, park the bus Man Utd, football the Mourinho way" chant.

To be fair, though, it is the Foxes who have forced United back in the last 15 minutes. They have had no choice but to put men behind the ball and defend deep.

A better minute or two from the hosts, who have been on the back foot for a long time. Paul Pogba plays a one-two and shoots from a long way out but it's easy for Kasper Schmeichel.

Oh and then a first chance for Alexis Sanchez! Great early ball over the top from Fred, Sanchez loops a header on to the roof of the net but the flag was up anyway.

Fred is a lucky boy. He was hassled off the ball a moment ago and just kicked Demaray Gray in the back of the calf, off the ball. Not sure if it was malicious or just clumsy but either way it should have been at least a foul.

The new United man has been caught out a couple of times.

David: Very little service to Sanchez and Rashford. Leicester have taken control of this game

Helles: Leicester look the far superior team because United are sitting back VERY deep, defending a 1-0 lead in the first half at Old Trafford... If I were a United fan I would dread the season after these 30 minutes...

Desalegn: Who is playing at home? Just missed the start of the game

Matteo Darmian's selection at right-back in place of injured skipper Antonio Valencia is an interesting one by Jose Mourinho.

During Manchester United's pre-season tour of the USA, the Italian said he wanted to leave and return to Italy.

Juventus and Napoli have both been rumoured as potential destinations for the former Torino man.

However, United want him to stay and feel he fulfils a very useful role, covering both full-back slots.

The Italian transfer window closes next Friday.

Now, can Leicester test David de Gea again and try and force a way back into the game? He's made one brilliant save already.

Ah, they do almost get in as Kelechi Iheanacho is played through but fair play to Victor Lindelof, who is as strong as an ox to hold him off and make a challenge.

He did have a big handful of shirt, to be honest...
