    What a beauty!

Liverpool's season is up and running after a glorious three-man move started by Naby Keita.

His clever pass allows Andy Robertson on the over-lap to send in a delicious low cross for Mohamed Salah to tap in.

Liverpool made it look so, so easy.

Phil Bayley: From the expectations that Pogba is held to over his price tag, nothing less than 38 clean sheets will do for the until-recently most expensive GK ever and most expensive defender ever.

The 13th Born: Who remembers when West Ham went about handing Ls to the big teams beginning of the season? More of that for today please

West Ham are playing a dangerous game. Their back four are holding the line on the edge of the penalty area and trying to catch Liverpool offside. You have to be so well-drilled to do that. Liverpool have such clever players and they're going to get through at some point.

Joseph: As sad as it is to think, I believe that if we (Liverpool) don't win a trophy this season then Klopp will be forced out the door.

Bobby Seagull: Optimistic for the new West Ham season. The club have made a real investment in talent but the challenge is to deliver results. Mind you, I'd reluctantly accept a tight defeat against Liverpool to avoid a Salah-inflicted heavy first day loss.

RJB: Liverpool fans in 1998 - this is our year, 1999 this is our year, 2000 this is our year, 2001 this is our year, 2002 this is our year, 2003 this is our year. 2004 this is our year, 2005-2017 these are our years, 2018 this is our year. Clue - no it isn’t, take hint.

Tom D Grayling: I’m a lifelong Norwich fan. Before the play-off final in which we beat Middlesbrough to go up I bought a half and half scarf. I was and still am adamant that it wasn’t just one teams day, it was both teams day and I want to be able to celebrate and remember that.

Noel Fitzpatrick: There's a special place in hell for whoever invented half and half scarves!!! Support neither if you are a neutral (that's supporting the football you are watching), but never support both!!

Michael Clark: I confess to owning a half/half. Aberdeen & Liverpool from our centenary match. 2 teams I support from different countries. Other than that i'd never consider buying one.

I think that's the full spectrum covered.

  18. 'Now the real job starts'published at 13:28 British Summer Time 12 August 2018

Liverpool v West Ham (13:30 BST)

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp speaking to Sky Sports:

"Now the real job starts. We play against West Ham which has a pretty new team, a few nice and especially quick additions so we need to be really concentrated."

What can you expect from the new boys?

"A goalkeeper is different I would say, it’s different. Alisson has to play his game, He’s had two weeks it’s not the world but it’s ok. No goalkeeper in the world can do the job alone so we need to help him and defend as well as possible. He seems a really calm person who is ready in the moment when we need him.

"Naby Keita has had the full six weeks with us. I always play with the team of last year but Jordan Henderson came back a bit late so it made sense (to include Keita).

"Georginio Wijnaldum, James Milner and Naby have worked together and played really well together in pre-season, so that’s the midfield we wanted to have. I of course never forget last season and why should I but the actual performance and impression in training is the most important and that’s the line-up."
