Newcastle are about to send on Joselu, who scored last week against Chelsea. I presume it'll be Rondon as I can't see them going two up top. Yes it is.

Hats off to Salomon Rondon today. He's up top on his own and you'd think he'd be almost silent in his contribution in this system but he's had 33 touches, which is the second-highest in the Newcastle side. Only Ki Sung-yueng on 35 has more.

The Toon have only touched the ball six times in the City area though and as Raheem Sterling fires wide from 18 yards, it's safe to say the away side would give anything for a half-chance like that.

Tom Hobart: Mahrez losing the ball so much as he's clearly desperate to score his first goal for City. Needs to not force it, and let the opportunity come, as its painful to watch right now. He'll do it, but the price tag is making him nervous to justify it.

We have a quarter of the game to go. I can't see Newcastle scoring but then I couldn't before the break. Credit to them, they've stuck in there and it only takes once lucky bounce or set piece now...

Some wonderful football from City started by a wonderful pass from Bernardo Silva with the outside for his foot. Martin Dubravka makes three blocked saves in about 10 seconds. Exciting football from City but didn't end with the goal it deserved.

Brilliant stuff wherever you look.

Ederson throws the ball out quickly, Bernardo Silva plays the type of outside-of-the-foot pass which belongs on a Brazilian beach, Sergio Aguero delivers perfectly for Fernandinho who is denied by Martin Dubravka.

The rebound is up for grabs, David Silva... parried out. Silva gets on it again, low drive, saved by the legs.

Dubravka celebrates like he's found one last sausage at the bottom of a bowl of beans.

Sergio Aguero's lay off for Kyle Walker means he has been directly involved in 17 goals in 12 Premier League outings against the Toon - 14 goals and three assists.

His side are now camped in the away half, seemingly sucking the life out of this fixture. In comes a cross, headed away by Paul Dummett. Salomon Rondon holds the ball up well, can't fault him today really as he feeds off what you couldn't even call scraps.

They managed 160 at Maine Road and 590 at the Etihad.

Gabriel Jesus chests and finishes but he was fractionally off from Sergio Aguero's attempted overhead kick.

It'll be the end of Gabriel's day too as he's off for Bernardo Silva.

Kyle Walker must be 30 yards out and he absolutely smashed it. Like Kevin de Bruyne against Swansea but low and hard. Wonderful strike, pace and power too much for the keeper.

Strangely tame atmosphere here. The weather is dull, heavy.

Tremendous work by Kenedy in getting over to hassle Benjamin Mendy. He steals the ball and wins a foul, stopping the rampaging City left-back from getting forward.

You'll see below how often City seek out the left flank and Mendy is often the man pushing on down that side.
