The sprinklers are dousing the pitch at the Etihad. Slick surface perhaps for City to be able to move the ball quickly and upset this Newcastle defensive block.

Vincent Kompany has just received an honour for spending 10 years here. He's on the bench today but runs back into the dressing room to get on with business.

It has been 10 years to the day since Manchester City were acquired by Sheikh Mansour Bin Zayed Al Nahyan's Abu Dhabi United Group. Who will forget that transfer deadline day when Robinho rocked up and really, the dynamic of the Premier League changed dramatically.

Good news for Newcastle fans, it seems from this image that Sergio Aguero has been working on his finishing this week. That's all you need eh?

He seems to do his major damage at the Etihad in recent times with Sergio 12 goals in seven home league appearances in 2018, including that hat-trick against Huddersfield two weeks ago.

He has 14 goals in 11 Premier League appearances against Newcastle too, so put the house on him netting today.

So what's your reaction to the team news? Newcastle fans, will that system work here? Or should you have a go like Wolves did a bit last week?

Pep Guardiola, a man who can make as many changes as he wishes it seems, makes three from the draw at Wolves last week.

In come John Stones, Riyad Mahrez and Gabriel Jesus as Vincent Kompany, Ilkay Gundogan and Bernardo Silva drop out.

City XI: Ederson, Walkes, Stones, Laporte, Mendy, Fernandinho, Mahrez, Silva, Sterling, Jesus, Aguero.

Newcastle's Ayoze Perez gets a starting place and he is one of three changes. Kenedy also comes back in bust most eye-catching is the inclusion of Jamaal Lascelles.

He's captain again. Remember all the talk of a 'bust up' with Rafa Benitez a week ago. Seems it was a storm in a teacup. Fabian Schar, Matt Ritchie and Jacob Murphy make way for the three new faces.

Newcastle XI: Dubravka, Yedlin, Lascelles, Fernandes, Clark, Dummett, Ki, Diame, Kenedy, Perez, Rondon.

    Love is in the air.

Will she love the fact Riyad Mahrez is starting? Is it time for the summer recruit to deliver?

Hello my pedigree chums, how has your day of football been so far? Accumulator up in smoke? Fantasy football team playing like their feet are tied together? Yeah, I know the feeling.

Still, we've got plenty to focus on now. For starters, Manchester City are currently warming up in that horrific striped warm-up t-shirt they now own.

When my eyes have settled down against after looking at it I'll bring you stats, teams and a load more.

To be fair, if I'd had a week of criticism, two defeats (one against a side in the league below) and generally hadn't been allowed to spend a penny, then I'd probably have my head in my hands at the sight of Sergio Aguero too Rafa.

No big deal, all you need is a win against a side who have seemingly forgotten how to lose at home. Easy.
