  3. CLOSE!published at 16:15 British Summer Time 15 September 2018

    Newcastle 0-2 Arsenal

Alexandre Lacazette and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang combine well in the box but the shot from the former Dortmund striker is wide of the far post.

    Arsenal very dominant now.

  4. CLOSE!published at 16:15 British Summer Time 15 September 2018

    Man City 3-0 Fulham

Sergio Aguero is replaced by Gabriel Jesus and the City striker almost makes an impact just seconds after coming on. His shot from close range is blocked though.

  5. Postpublished at 16:14 British Summer Time 15 September 2018

    Bournemouth 3-0 Leicester

A few slightly brighter signs for Leicester but you can't hide the fact they are three goals down. Ben Chilwell's week in particular has taken a big downward turn today after his England debut. The left-back's dangerous low cross here is cleared by a Bournemouth boot in the box.

GOAL - Newcastle 0-2 Arsenalpublished at 16:13 British Summer Time 15 September 2018

    Mesut Ozil (58 mins)

Grant Xhaka has so much space down the left to cross it into the box. It finds it's way to Mesut Ozil after Alexandre Lacazette's shot is blocked and the German slots it home.

That's his first goal at St James' Park.

Simon Goodall: Man City a bit lethargic at the start of the half. It took them 97 seconds to score in the first half, but 98 seconds to score in the second half.

    Newcastle 0-1 Arsenal

It's gone a bit flat since that goal from Granit Xhaka. But Arsenal are enjoying all the possession so far. Mesut Ozil tries to slide it into Hector Bellerin but it's cut out just in time.

  9. DISALLOWED GOALpublished at 16:11 British Summer Time 15 September 2018

    Huddersfield 0-1 Crystal Palace

Philip Billing slots the ball past Wayne Hennessey but it's ruled out as Steve Mounie is penalised for a foul in the box.

  10. CHANCE!published at 16:10 British Summer Time 15 September 2018

    Chelsea 2-1 Cardiff

Two long throws from Cardiff, the second finds its way out to Joe Ralls, the midfielder fires a stinging effort wide of the post.

A little reminder there - still only one goal in it.

    Bournemouth 3-0 Leicester

Word from our TV colleagues at Bournemouth that Claude Puel is having to do without a few of his technical staff in this second half because they were sent to the stands at half-time - not at all sure what for.

...forget my last text, Xhaka can stay on. What do I know?

And I was just complaining as to why Xhaka was still on the pitch, very happy to eat my words.

  13. 'Easy finish for Sterling'published at 16:08 British Summer Time 15 September 2018

    Man City 3-0 Fulham

    Matthew Upson
Former Arsenal defender at Etihad Stadium for 5 live Sport

Just as we were talking about how Fulham had started dangerously, forcing Kyle Walker to make a decent interception, the space behind which Fulham had left exposed was quickly exploited.

So much space for Sergio Aguero once he received the ball and a superb whipped cross in made the finish easy for Sterling.

GOAL - Man City 3-0 Fulhampublished at 16:08 British Summer Time 15 September 2018

    Raheem Sterling (47 mins)

    That's another one for City.

A great ball across the six-yard-box from Sergio Aguero and it's a simple tap-in for Raheem Sterling.

It came after Ryan Sessegnon had got forward down the left, before losing out to Kyle Walker and City exploited the space the full-back had left behind.

  15. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 16:08 British Summer Time 15 September 2018

    Chelsea 2-1 Cardiff

Ross Barkley is coming on here, Mateo Kovacic looks to have picked up a knock. He's shaking his head as he gingerly makes his way off the pitch.

  16. CLOSE!published at 16:07 British Summer Time 15 September 2018

    Bournemouth 3-0 Leicester

Bit of a nightmare performance from Ricardo Pereira this, his pass across goal is straight to Callum Wilson, who goes so close to finding a fourth with a vicious low drive deflected just behind by Harry Maguire's dangling leg.

The corner falls out to Ryan Fraser on the edge of the box and he forces Kasper Schmeichel into a spectacular tip over the bar.

  17. CLOSE!published at 16:07 British Summer Time 15 September 2018

    Man City 2-0 Fulham

    More chances for City.

Leroy Sane charges down the right, beating two defenders with his pace, before slipping it inside to Bernardo Silva.

He tries to curl it in from the edge of the box but it swerves inches wide.

  18. goal

GOAL - Newcastle 0-1 Arsenalpublished at 16:04 British Summer Time 15 September 2018

    Granit Xhaka (49 mins)

We have a goal at St James' Park!

And it's another beauty from Granit Xhaka. He eyes up the free-kick and thumps it into the top right corner.

    Cool as you like.

    Likes a good long-ranger doesn't he?
