Now there's more noise, much more vigour in the challenges as Watford believe once more. Just the one goal in it. Ashley Young launches a long free-kick up to Marouane Fellaini. It falls to Paul Pogba on the edge but he's forced off it and Watford break clear.

Huge shouts from the home fans as Roberto Pereyra tumbles on the edge of the box - the referee waves it away.

Good work from Doucoure. I said United have been sloppy, very complacent trying to sit on the lead.

Gray does well, checked his run coming onto the ball and finishes lovely with his right foot. Game on.

Lovely touches again from Paul Pogba. Those deep reserves of talent are reaching the surface today. Romelu Lukaku instantly controls but Alexis Sanchez isn't on the same wavelength and can't get to his disguised pass.

Troy Deeney is asking why he didn't get a penalty. Chris Smalling is all over him at the corner, he's been doing it all game. That should be a penalty, Mike Dean is having a good game but he's missing a lot of shirt pulling.

Andre Gray, always working hard, always making his marker match him. Here he spins down the line and Victor Lindelof spins with him. The United defender seems in command but somehow Gray comes up with it - sheer force of will wins a corner.

Jose Holebas delivers on top of David de Gea, Christian Kabasele is close to connecting, but Chris Smalling gets a vital head on it to clear over the bar. That was a big chance for Watford.

Finally a glimmer of brilliance from a man we know possesses it in spades. Paul Pogba pings a delicious through ball, low and zipping, right into Romelu Lukkaku's path.

But the big Belgian is forced out of it and has to settle for a corner, which is delivered too long.

United have eased off the tempo, an opportunity for Watford to seize more possession. For all their good play in the first half they have been a little complacent.

Roberto Pereyra wins a free-kick from Antonio Valencia on the edge of the box - he was waiting for it.

Jose Holebas and Pereyra are the options.

Pereyra fires over the bar. Javi Gracia brings a hand to his brow and squeezes above the eyes.

Callum Anderson: I find it curious that Watford are throwing so many long balls into the area at a team with Smalling, Pogba, Fellaini and Matic in it - all 6"3' + ...

It's just not quite coming off for Watford. Etienne Capoue looks to play Andre Gray in down the left but it's intercepted. Daryl Janmaat drifts a high cross to the edge of the box where Chris Smalling chests up to himself and scissor-kicks away (only joking, it was a header).

Very comfortable this, for Jose Mourinho's side.

If Watford get an early goal then the crowd will get behind them and it will be much easier. It looks like Gracia is going to give it 10-15 minutes but I would be looking at Nathaniel Chalobah and Isaac Success if they don’t get an early goal.

Watford have got to ruffle them, get in their faces and not let them dictate the tempo.

Jose Holebas with the delivery - which doesn't beat the first man, headed clear. Watford do well to recycle possession and launch in again, Marouane Fellaini fencing away this time.
