David Freedman: Let's hope United don't sit on a two goal lead. It's been a while since they popped in a bunch of goals. The fans deserve it.

Jay Barnes: Manchester United are grossly misusing the bus.

I'm seeing a lot of love for Chris Smalling out there. It really was quite the goal. Dimitar Berbatov must have sent it in.

See this out and Manchester United are up to eighth in the table, still six points off the pace.

  5. 'Gracia has to make changes'published at 18:24 British Summer Time 15 September 2018

    Watford 0-2 Man Utd

    Derek Payne
Former Watford midfielder at Vicarage Road for BBC Three Counties Radio

I have been impressed with United's style of play in the first half. They have got a system that has really dominated the ball.

Marouane Fellaini is dropping between the centre-backs, the full-backs are getting high, Lingard comes off the wing, so does Sanchez and they are overloading the midfield.

Doucoure and Capoue are not getting anywhere near them. United deservedly come in 2-0 up. If Javi Gracia keeps the same system I can’t see Watford get them back into the game.

  6. HALF-TIMEpublished at 18:18 British Summer Time 15 September 2018

    Controlled, powerful, efficient.

There were three minutes and 11 seconds between the two goals.

Another great save form Ben Foster, stood tall. Pogba caught it really well on his left foot looking for the corner, great reactions from Foster.

    Great play from United.

  8. GREAT SAVE!published at 45 mins+1

    Watford 0-2 Man Utd

Brilliant stop. It just about keeps Watford in this.

Jesse Lingard drifts a long ball to the back post, it's low by the time it reaches Paul Pogba, who smashes one first time into Ben Foster's legs and away. A wry smile from the Frenchman.

  9. Postpublished at 45 mins+1

TWO minutes of time added on. All Manchester United, as you might expect.

Lewis Wilson: Get in Cristiano Smalling!

Peter Malath: Wow Mike Smalling! That's a center forward's ball control and finish right there. Van Nistelrooy would be very proud

Corner Manchester United. They've imposed themselves here emphatically, with minimal fuss.

Watford knock it clear but gone is the zip and drive we saw from them in the game's earlier stages. They look a little shell-shocked.

Is the dream run coming to an end? Three minutes until half-time.

Joe Whiteman: Lukaku is a goal machine. Scored that goal with his abs!

Gareth: Is that the first goal in the history of the Premier League deliberately scored by use of the belly button?

Edward Taylor: No offside and no handball. Watford are outraged over nothing.

  14. 'A striker's finish by Smalling'published at 18:10 British Summer Time 15 September 2018

    Watford 0-2 Man Utd

    Derek Payne
Former Watford midfielder at Vicarage Road for BBC Three Counties Radio

Really good finish from Smalling, centre half finishing like a centre forward. He does ever so well, chests it, turns and smashes it past Foster.

Watford asleep to the second ball, if you don't win the first ball you've got to win the second.

  15. goal

GOAL - Watford 0-2 Man Utdpublished at 38 mins

    Chris Smalling

Oh my word! Jose Mourinho is up off the bench celebrating and a new-look Chris Smalling can tell you why.

The centre-back channels his inner Zlatan Ibrahimobvic as he chests Marouane Fellaini's flick-on from a corner, swivels beautifully and smashes in from close range on the volley.

  16. GREAT SAVEpublished at 36 mins

    Watford 0-1 Man Utd

The Hornets went behind to Spurs...

But here come Manchester United again as Paul Pogba forces a fine save from Ben Foster.

  17. 'Kabasele at fault'published at 18:07 British Summer Time 15 September 2018

    Watford 0-1 Man Utd

    Derek Payne
Former Watford midfielder at Vicarage Road for BBC Three Counties Radio

Lukaku isn't offside, one of the Watford players stays too deep. Kabasele didn't deal with the first ball from free kick, slipped and maybe had a little loss of concentration. When the ball came back in he didn't push up wit the rest of his defence and Lukaku had an easy tap in.

  18. goal

GOAL Watford 0-1 Man Utdpublished at 35 mins

    Romelu Lukaku

It's scrappy, but who's gonna remember that?

It's so simple too - easily avoided from a Watford perspective. The home side fail to clear a free-kick, it comes back out to Ashley Young and Romelu Lukaku is in acres of space to bundle the ball home any which way he can, off his chest.

Jose Holebas has picked up a yellow - I think for complaining to the ref that Lukaku used a hand.

  19. YELLOW CARDpublished at 34 mins

    Watford 0-0 Man Utd

Etienne Capoue drags back Jesse Lingard as the Manchester United man was driving away on the counter attack. Clear as day - in the book he goes.

  20. CLOSE!published at 31 mins

    Watford 0-0 Man Utd

Cool as a cucumber from Chris Smalling as he dinks a header back to his keeper in a challenge on Troy Deeney inside his own box.

One big pump up the park finds Romelu Lukukau, he lays off to Alexis Sanchez and the Chilean drives into the box, forcing a good save from Ben Foster who tips over the bar.
