    Everton 1-2 West Ham

Smart link up from Theo Walcott and Jonjoe Kenny down the right, and a teasing ball into the box from the young full-back. It's headed away by Pablo Zabaleta. Right-backs at either end of their careers, there.

Looking forward to seeing more of Bernard in the second half. Who doesn't love watching a Brazilian playmaker? And desperately trying to work a 'Bernard's Watch' pun into the live text.

Kids of the '90s know what I mean...

Josh Earl: My thoughts are very much with Morgan Schneiderlin. Upmost respect that he even made himself available to play. Great human being and a very sad situation.

    Everton 1-2 West Ham

West Ham will be cursing that late goal they conceded in the first half, but their two strikes have come from just three efforts on goal.

Everton will be cursing the fact that both of those they pretty much handed to the Hammers.

    Everton 1-2 West Ham

Great start to life at the Hammers for Andriy Yarmolenko - he is just the fourth West Ham player to score a brace on his first Premier League start for the club and the first since Demba Ba against West Brom in February 2011. David Di Michele and Trevor Sinclair were the others.

Wackar Rao: Hammers need this win. Cannot swallow another loss .

Andy: I'm quite excited by the fact that my beloved West Ham are at least going to lose by something-2 instead of something-nil.

  9. 'A positive performance for West Ham'published at 16:54 British Summer Time 16 September 2018

    Everton 1-2 West Ham

    BBC Radio 5 live

Former West Ham winger Matthew Etherington on BBC Radio 5 Live: "West Ham have been very good until the 46th minute. They have been on the front foot, not allowing Everton time and space like they have with other opponents.

"A positive performance and they have carried a threat up front with Arnautovic and Yarmolenko."

Dion Dublin was just talking about how a goal could change the half-time team talks...

Someone should get the documentary cameras out at Goodison.

  11. 'What Everton needed'published at 16:50 British Summer Time 16 September 2018

    Everton 1-2 West Ham

    Dion Dublin
Ex-Aston Villa striker on BBC Radio 5 Live

That is better from Everton, a lot better. Sigurdsson getting in the box, great ball from Kenny on a sixpence. What Everton needed, just what West Ham didn’t need.

What a time to score. That's the break.

  13. goal

GOAL - Everton 1-2 West Hampublished at 45+1mins

    Gylfi Sigurdsson (45+1mins)

Well, Everton needed that. And what an impact after the substitution.

Bernard is immediately involved on the edge of the area, getting Everton moving left and then right as the Toffees spread it to full-back Jonjoe Kenny.

It's a superb delivery from the youngster, but an even better header from Gylfi Sigurdsson as he generates some serious power and guides the ball beyond Lukasz Fabianski.

    Big goal for the Toffees.

  14. 'Hard for Schneiderlin to concentrate'published at 16:46 British Summer Time 16 September 2018

    Everton 0-2 West Ham

    Dion Dublin
Ex-Aston Villa striker on BBC Radio 5 Live

Morgan Schneiderlin didn’t look to be struggling, interesting change that.

It must be difficult to concentrate when we all know what happened with his dad. You can’t be here, you can’t be playing a game of football.

  15. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 44 mins

    Everton 0-2 West Ham

    Early change for Everton.

Bernard comes on for Morgan Schneiderlin. Marco Silva was talking in his programme notes about the Frenchman, whose father died this week.

  16. Postpublished at 43 mins

    Everton 0-2 West Ham

Felipe Anderson has got serious gas, and tricks to boot. He threatens to scamper clear, before cutting back, looking for support and waltzing around several Everton defenders.

Jonjoe Kenny eventually brings the West Ham man down.

  17. 'Everton still in this'published at 16:43 British Summer Time 16 September 2018

    Everton 0-2 West Ham

    Dion Dublin
Ex-Aston Villa striker on BBC Radio 5 Live

Everton are still in the game, there is more quality to come from them. As an ex-player the team talk at 2-0 is very different to 2-1.

Matt Drabble: Accidental or deliberate that's a red card IMO

Ash Williams: That Masuaku challenge was worse than Mane. Studs on his head and neck. Straight red should’ve been shown.

    Everton 0-2 West Ham

    Dion Dublin

A very high boot. Masuaku has eyes on the ball but studs on the back of Walcott’s head. He’s done well to get away with a yellow card. Other referees might have contemplated that decision a little longer.

Lucas Digne is going to have a go.

It's driven low towards goal, but is gobbled up easily by Lukasz Fabianski.
