I've sen him play for Ireland, he works hard, but not a goalscorer. He's great with Danny Ings but is not going to score too many himself.

With Liverpool winning six from six in all competitions to start the season and putting another memorable Anfield European night in the memory bank, Southampton must hope the Reds have a 'below par' day looming, or that the excursions of that late midweek win against PSG could take their toll.

Jurgen Klopp's team are unbeaten in 23 league matches at home, and for Southampton to get anywhere close to upsetting the odds they will have to be on top of their game, having thrown away three points on Monday night against Brighton.

Their task is a sterner one without Danny Ings, who has scored half of their league goals so far.

Manchester United are very much back on track. People were pretty much writing Jose Mourinho off. But they've won every game since then.

They look powerful, they look strong. I think Jose will take a victory over the performance. He wants the points on the table but it'll be a more difficult game than maybe anyone is expecting.

This Wolves side will not be a pushover and the crowd will have to be patient.

I'm hoping it's going to be an entertaining game.

Manchester United v Wolves (15:00 BST)

    Guy Mowbray

Young Boys weren't a problem, but a meeting with an old boy might be for Jose Mourinho, with Wolves boss Nuno Espirito Santo having been his back-up goalkeeper for Porto, external from 2002 to 2004.

Three wins out of three in September has seen Manchester United return to 'normal' after August defeats brought early-season worry, and normally you'd expect them to comfortably see off a newly-promoted team at home.

Wolves, though, do not fit the newly-promoted norm. They've spent money, they have style and they play with no fear.

Nuno will bring his team to have a real go at Old Trafford, where Wolves last won in 1980.

It should be a really good game.

Neil Warnock says that the media attention on the tackle was disproportionate, especially considering Jazz Richards was injured in the same game by a challenge from Kevin De Bruyne.

“I totally agree with him [Guardiola] - players should get more protection if I’m honest," he said.

"But you guys only want to talk about the top players,

"I suppose a tackle on Richards probably doesn’t sell any papers or makes any news. There were one or two naughty things when we didn’t get the rub of the green."

    Guardiola refused to be drawn.

“I’m not going to discuss a game that happened seven months ago or the decisions of the referee. I’m not going to play that game,” said the City boss.

    Watch out for the handshakes.

That was Alan Shearer's description of Joe Bennett's tackle on City's Leroy Sane when these two teams met in the FA Cup in January.

You can judge for yourself in the video above - it comes from 1:41 on - but it seems pretty accurate.

The incident provided the spice to the pre-match media conferences.

Pep Guardiola returns to the dugout this weekend after his midweek UEFA ban as Manchester City look to bounce back from their stuttering start in the Champions League.

European hangovers haven't been a problem recently though, with City winning eight of the last nine games immediately following a Champions League night.

The gulf in class between these two teams clearly tilts the game strongly in the champions' favour, though Cardiff certainly gave a good account of themselves against Arsenal in their most recent home game despite losing 3-2.

However, they may have to wait a little longer for that elusive first win of the season.

    Leicester v Huddersfield (15:00 BST)

Huddersfield manager David Wagner speaking to Sky Sports: "We will try to bring our ideas onto the grass and try to limit their opportunities. We will see how it looks like after the game.

"Training-wise we have been at a very good level. Performance-wise we are on a good level too. We have to take the next opportunity which is today.

"We need to follow the gameplan as tightly as we can and show what we are about. We need to fight for every yard."

Leicester manager Claude Puel speaking to Sky Sports: "We play the game to win all the time. We are at home in front of our fans and they deserve a good performance from us.

"I am confident with my players and that they will give a good response this afternoon."

Claude Puel's critics are out again. Last week's 4-2 defeat at Bournemouth means Leicester have lost eight of their last 12 Premier League games if you take into account their miserable end to the last campaign.

The Frenchman needs a win and, on paper, the visit of Huddersfield is very timely. The Terriers surprised many by escaping the drop last season but they've surprised very few in this one - they're stuck in the relegation zone without a win to their name and struggling to score.

Leicester should have enough quality to get the job done; otherwise former Fox Robbie Savage could be fielding a few calls about Monsieur Puel on 606.

Having risked derision by concentrating on damage limitation in consecutive matches against Chelsea, Manchester City and Arsenal, will Rafa Benitez take off the handbrake and unleash the hounds against Palace? It's not very likely.

Rafa is an arch-pragmatist; he understands the limitations of his armoury and will no doubt focus on stopping Wilfried Zaha first, and worry about the rest later.

Zaha's contention that he is under-protected by referees created some debate last week. As Palace's most likely match-winner - almost their only match-winner - he can hardly expect to go unmolested by defenders. But does he dive? Like most players with blistering pace, you may think that he has been prone to exaggeration on occasion.

Whatever the truth, the spotlight will be on him - and referee Andre Marriner - on Saturday.
