    Ilkay Gundogan (44 mins)

Cardiff picked apart like a dissected rat.

  6. CLOSE!published at 15:44 British Summer Time 22 September 2018

    Liverpool 2-0 Southampton

What a goal this would have been!

Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg is free in the box but scuffs his shot and Liverpool can counter through Mohamed Salah.

The Egyptian goes all the way, past the defender and into the six yard box before turning away from the keeper. He tries a back-heel and it almost comes off but the ball bounces inches wide of the post.

If Anthony Joshua lands a one-two as quick as that tonight he will be laughing.

Johann Berg Gudmundsson's deep probing cross is perfect for Aaron Lennon who slides in to apply a deft finish.

It is Lennon's first Premier League goal since March 2016.

GOAL - Burnley 1-0 Bournemouthpublished at 15:38 British Summer Time 22 September 2018

    Matej Vydra (39 mins)

An almigthy scramble, but Burnley don't mind about the style points after their slow start to the season.

Ashley Westwood takes two swings at the ball as it bobbles around invitingly in the penalty area.

His second attempt ricochets off Nathan Ake and into the path of Matej Vydra - making his first Clarets start - at the far post for a simple finish.

    Bernardo Silva (35 mins)

    Oh, bravo sir.

This is like an old early-90s Arsenal corner routine, reheated and given a modern twist.

Leroy Sane slings in a cross and Bernando Silva deftly flicks the ball sending it floating and arcing over Neil Etheridge and into the far corner.

That might just be that for Cardiff.

Classic Pep-era Manchester City as the visitors string together a decisive attacking move like it is a dot-to-dot drawing.

Ilkay Gundogan drops a shoulder and slides a pass into Bernardo Silva who stands up his man and squares into the path of Sergio Aguero.

The Argentine, making his 300th City appearance, is a yard quicker than his marker and buries a first-time shot from 12 yards.

That goal has settled Manchester United down.

They were rocked by the start Wolves made, misplacing passes and they couldn't get to grips with how Wolves had set up.

But they are playing with much more confidence now.
