  1. GREAT SAVE!published at 31 mins

    West Ham 0-0 Chelsea

And another fine chance for West Ham and Michail Antonio!

A swift counter-attack as Andriy Yarmolenko dribbles at David Luiz.

The ball bundles through to Antonio in the penalty area. From close range, but a tight angle, he drills low and Kepa Arrizabalaga blocks with his shins.

What wonderful play there, it was twinkle toes from Anderson. He rolled the ball through beyond Rudiger and Antonio just couldn't pull the ball back on the target and it blazed over.

They hadn't threatened for 10 minutes.

    A warning sign for Chelsea.

  4. CLOSE!published at 29 mins

And out of nowhere West Ham conjure perhaps the best chance of the game!

I say out of nowhere, it is direct from some neat play from Felipe Anderson.

The Brazilian tricks his way past Cesar Azpilicueta, slides in Michail Antonio, but the former Forest plays blazes over the top as he goes for power.

West Ham are under the cosh.

It is a long way to halftime, but they already look like they could do with the oranges and a tactical re-jig.

Here's how it looks so far...

    They are getting closer.

Willian's wicked delivery almost picks out Antonio Rudiger and then the loose ball drops to Mateo Kovacic.

Pablo Zabaleta gets across to block just in the nick of time.

  7. PENALTY APPEALpublished at 22 mins

    West Ham 0-0 Chelsea

West Ham's flat back four gets a little too flat and, without any pressure on the ball, Jorginho gets his head up and lofts a beautiful ball in behind for Olivier Giroud.

The Frenchman takes on the volley 15 yards out but is put off as a covering Arthur Masuaku comes in from full-back.

Giroud duffs his effort and asks the question of Mike Dean.

    Nothing doing.

That is what some of that £36m-odd was for.

Felipe Anderson gets his first run at Cesar Azpilicueta, feints his way past the Chelsea full-back and squares.

Chelsea hack behind at the cost of West Ham's first corner.

It comes to nothing as Mark Noble lumps it well wide from distance.

West Ham get a bit of go-forward for the first time in a long time.

But the hum of expectation turns to groans as Andriy Yarmolenko over-cooks his pass to Pablo Zabaleta.

West Ham are having to do a lot of work without the football.

Chelsea are playing with lots of confidence and it's only a matter of time before they get a good chance.

Often the players get a buzz off a new arrival [Sarri] and they are clearly enjoying working under him in these opening games.

We do have to give West ham some credit for their defensive resolve so far.

The lion's share of the ball has been with Chelsea, though.

    72% according to our stats.

This on-bombing role that N'Golo Kante has been given since Maurizio Sarri joined the club takes some getting used to.

The Chelsea man gets up to meet a Marcos Alonso cross but can't generate any significant power.

Almost don't recognise him when he isn't beetling around midfield, pick-pocketing possession.

If that had been on Hazard's right side instead of his left then i think that would have generated a bit more power.

Fabianski has really impressed me. He did well in a relegated Swansea team but he's a good shot-stopper.

Chelsea are really starting to turn the screw.

Chelsea are starting the get into the groove.

The Blues pop the ball about at sparkling speed and Willian's little flick around the corner is well weighted for Eden Hazard.

The angle is tight though and the Belgian fires into Lukasz Fabianski's gloves from his first sight at goal.

Antonio Rudiger clearly thinks he is also one of those defenders who can step forward and give it a decent whack.

He cranks up his right peg from way downtown. Decent hit, but straight at Lukasz Fabianski.

That was total air shot from Zabaleta. Let's hope the Europeans don't do that in the Ryder Cup!

    West Ham 0-0 Chelsea

There is something interesting developing down the Chelsea left and West Ham right.

Eden Hazard is not bothering to track the runs of Pablo Zabaleta, apparently having weighed up that the veteran Argentine cannot do much damage in attack and he can cause havoc in the space he leaves behind.

The first part of that equation looks right. Zabaleta swipes thin air when he is all alone in an excellent crossing position and the ball goes out for a goal kick.

"Shhhhoooot!" urge the London Stadium as Felipe Anderson gets a bit of time on the ball 30 yards out.

    He takes the hint.

But his meaty effort is straight into a defender's midriff though.

A little more direct from Chelsea as they break fast on West Ham and almost exploit the space left in behind by 33-year-old Pablo Zabaleta, who is on a jaunt upfield.

The linesman flag is up to halt a promising attack.

That looks like an area that could be fruitful for the visitors though.

Chelsea get on the ball and start popping the ball about.

Willian gets a bit of space down the right and dinks into towards Olivier Giroud.

Fabián Balbuena hoofs it over the horizon and clear.
