    FT: Tottenham 1-0 Cardiff

    All over.

Not convincing from Spurs but a win is a win and Cardiff remain without one this season.

  2. Postpublished at 90+5 mins

    Tottenham 1-0 Cardiff

Spurs win a free-kick out on the right wing. That will probably be that for Cardiff's chances.

  3. Postpublished at 90+4 mins

    Tottenham 1-0 Cardiff

Two minutes left. Cardiff have hardly had the ball in stoppage time but their fans are still singing.

  4. Postpublished at 90+2 mins

    Tottenham 1-0 Cardiff

I think even the Spurs fans will have enjoyed the Champions League defeat to Barcelona more than this.

    It has been pretty rubbish.

Bruno Manga tracks back well to stop Lucas getting in on goal.

If you stick Eriksen in the middle of the park today he would have destroyed this game for Cardiff. He's exactly who Spurs have missed, that killer final pass against a team that have defended so solidly.

  6. STOPPAGE TIMEpublished at 90 mins

    Tottenham 1-0 Cardiff

The crowd is starting to thin at Wembley. I don't blame them for leaving. The last 15 minutes have been rubbish.

    FIVE minutes are added on.

Spurs have a free-kick in a dangerous position.

  9. Postpublished at 87 mins

Urgh. Now Danny Rose is down injured.

A worry for Gareth Southgate with the England international to come next week?

This game is fizzling out. Moussa Sissoko is replaced by Victor Wanyama.

  11. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 85 mins

    Tottenham 1-0 Cardiff

Ward isn't going to be able to continue. The substitute is substituted. Bobby Reid comes on.

  12. Postpublished at 83 mins

    Tottenham 1-0 Cardiff

The game doesn't really have any pattern since those substitutions. One of those players who came on for Cardiff, Danny Ward, is already down injured.

  13. 'Spurs could blow this'published at 16:40 British Summer Time 6 October 2018

Cardiff are still in this, the final ball's not been great as they've been pinned back in their own half since going down to 10 men.

There's still a possibility Spurs could blow this and drop points, especially if Cardiff can get a set piece.

  14. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 79 mins

    Tottenham 1-0 Cardiff

    Double change for Cardiff.

Kadeem Harris and Danny Ward replace Junior Hoilett and Callum Paterson.

  15. Postpublished at 78 mins

    Tottenham 1-0 Cardiff

It's not going to go in for Spurs in this second half. Two excellent blocks from Cardiff's Sol Bamba, the second knocking him to the ground.

  16. A goal for Kane?published at 16:35 British Summer Time 6 October 2018

    Tottenham 1-0 Cardiff

Harry Kane's been playing in that 10 role but since Lamela's arrival has moved up to the striker position. Moura and Lamela have gone out wide, maybe Harry can get his goal now.

    Tottenham 1-0 Cardiff

Pass, pass, pass from Spurs. The 10 men Cardiff are holding firm for now. Finding an equaliser is another matter though for the visitors.

They're still in this Cardiff, they aren't giving up and it's still only 1-0.

Pochettino has made the right decision here though, bringing on Lamela who was excellent against Barcelona in the week, he'll add something to this Spurs side.

  19. Postpublished at 75 mins

    Tottenham 1-0 Cardiff

More chants from the Spurs fans to try and lift their team. They're having plenty of the ball against 10-man Cardiff but can't kill this game off.

Spurs don't look totally comfortable at the back either.

  20. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 72 mins

First sub for Tottenham. Erik Lamela comes on for Son Heung-min.
