I think that was a penalty to Spurs there, they've just shown the replay and Danny Rose gets clipped.

He's got that one wrong Mike Dean.

  2. YELLOW CARDpublished at 70 mins

    Tottenham 1-0 Cardiff

Both Tottenham centre-backs have now been booked. Toby Alderweireld is the latest for a foul on halfway.

Moments earlier Danny Rose had a strong penalty claim turned down.

  3. HITS THE WOODWORKpublished at 66 mins

    Tottenham 1-0 Cardiff

Cardiff still aren't done! They have certainly had their moments in this game. A free-kick from deep finds Sean Morrison at the back post but his header is saved onto the post by Hugo Lloris before Alderweireld whacks away the loose ball.

Now will Spurs put this game to bed? Harry Winks has a go from distance but it flies over.

  5. YELLOW CARDpublished at 61 mins

    Tottenham 1-0 Cardiff

There certainly were a lot of Spurs players surrounding the referee. Harry Kane got booked, I assume for something he said.

'The players and stadium have effected that decision'published at 16:18 British Summer Time 6 October 2018

    Tottenham 1-0 Cardiff

I think the referee was going for a yellow but he gets surrounded by Spurs players. The challenge isn't dangerous, it's very cynical.

It's high and it's very cynical but the Tottenham reaction and the stadium's reaction has had an effect on his decision.

  7. RED CARD - Joe Ralls (Cardiff)published at 58 mins

    Tottenham 1-0 Cardiff

You just can't do that. Lucas Moura skins Joe Ralls on the right wing and there's no way the Cardiff midfielder is going to let the Brazilian past. Ralls makes no attempt to play the ball and hacks Lucas down.

He's not the last man by any means and it wasn't a high challenge but is so cynical and so far from the ball that Mike Dean decides it's worth a red card.

  8. Postpublished at 58 mins

    Tottenham 1-0 Cardiff

That's as close as Harry Kane has come today. Spurs' latest attack comes to a stand-still and looks over but the England captain is picked out near the penalty spot. He gets the ball out of his feet and spins on a shot but drags it narrowly wide of the left-hand post.

Spurs need another goal to be comfortable. It's quiet at Wembley.

  9. Postpublished at 54 mins

    Tottenham 1-0 Cardiff

More high pressing from Cardiff. Toby Alderweireld has to put the ball out for a throw-in 25 yards from his own goal.

  10. YELLOW CARDpublished at 52 mins

    Tottenham 1-0 Cardiff

The first yellow card of the game goes to Davinson Sanchez. It's good forward play by the impressive Callum Paterson. He gets goal side of the centre-back and wins the foul to help get his team up the field.

The resulting free-kick comes to nothing as Harry Arter's shot is saved by Hugo Lloris.

    What a block from Morrison!

The ball comes over the top and Harry Kane forces a good save from Etheridge but, much like the first half, the Cardiff keeper parries out into the box, Lucas Moura strikes towards goal but it's blocked incredibly from Sean Morrison.

I think Spurs might have had a telling off at half-time. They look much sharper.

The real good chances Spurs have had through Moura and Son, if they'd fallen to Harry Kane, Spurs would be 3-0 up. He has another 45 to get on the scoresheet though.

    Tottenham 1-0 Cardiff

How has this stayed out?! First Harry Kane has a header saved by Neil Etheridge and then Lucas Moura leathers the rebound towards the goal but Sean Morrison brilliantly blocks on the line.

All that inside the first 30 seconds of the second half!

Cardiff have been brave, much braver than we were led to believe. Spurs have had great chances with Son and Moura but Cardiff have had theirs too and it's the Murphy chance which will scare Pochettino the most.

  19. HALF-TIMEpublished at 15:46 British Summer Time 6 October 2018

    Tottenham 1-0 Cardiff

    Mike Dean blows for half-time.

Spurs just have the one-goal lead.

  20. CLOSE!published at 45 mins

    Tottenham 1-0 Cardiff

Groan, groan, groan. Spurs miss another chance with Son Heung-min guilty this time. It's great build-up involving one-touch football and Son works himself into space inside the area but blazes his shot way over.

    That was an awful finish.

One minute of stoppage time has been added.
