Everton manager Marco Silva tells BBC Sport's Conor McNamara that the game would have been different had Dominic Calvert-Lewin not had a goal ruled out for 2-0.

"I’m not here to find an easy excuse. It would have been 2-0, it [the alleged foul] doesn’t look anything special. I don’t know if it would have been the same in the other box.

"A second goal for us would be different for sure. In that moment the referee saw something I did not see. I can’t see anything there.

"The first goal we conceded is impossible. It [defensive error] happened with our team in the last game. We have to realise why it happens so many times with us.

"We need some more luck. This afternoon we were more effective, we scored three goals – although the referee didn’t give the second. But the game wasn’t finished.

"After the mistake we made for 1-1, they were stronger and faster than us, more aggressive. We have to realise why. We made mistakes in important moments."

Marco Silva telling Sky Sports about who was at fault for Tottenham's first goal: "I'm not here to say one or the other. We win together and when we lose and make mistakes we have to be together too.

"Tottenham played faster than us and we have to look and realise why it happened, when we played the first 20 minutes so well before it went 1-1.

"When something like this happens we have to forget the top six and wins against them. We did so well in previous matches against them but we have to improve and when we play them again we have to be able to compete, nothing more."

Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino to Sky Sports: "I’m so pleased, so happy. We came from a really tough game on Wednesday against Arsenal and today the team was so fresh with plenty of energy. We played very good football. It was fantastic. When you play that way you must be very proud.

“[Son has] massive quality. His finishes are unbelievable. It’s impossible to praise only him, we need to praise the whole team. The quality was amazing. Everton are a very good team. They scored and we were down in the score but the spirit was fantastic.

“That gives us an unbelievable feeling. It was so tough in the beginning. We dominated the 90 minutes and were much better than them. We have a very busy period but this is a fantastic way to start it."

Everton's Seamus Coleman taking to Sky Sports: "We were looking forward to the game and to go 1-0 up was important, especially at home and it possibly should have been 2-0 through Dominic (Calvert-Lewin). It looked like there was nothing wrong with it.

"It was tough to come back. We gifted them a goal and then they showed a lot of quality, so credit to Tottenham, they were brilliant.

"At times our commitment wasn't there and that was disappointing. The goal affected us more than it should and we never got back into it."

On Spurs' first goal... "It's something you never like to see, we all make mistakes and there was a communication problem. But now we've got a big game coming up and need to get ourselves back on track."

Mauricio Pochettino says that Dele Alli's injury is "not a big issue" but he will know more over Christmas.

Son Heung-min telling Sky Sports about his first goal: "It was a difficult angle, I just tried to hit the target and the goal came at a good time.

"Like Harry Kane said, we dominated from the start and created so many chances.

"We were unlucky to go 1-0 down but showed our character and mentality to come back and score six goals.

"We just have to focus on us now and go game by game. Then we will see what happens because it's a long race."

It's been an unbelievable performance. Tottenham are right in this title race and they've got to believe it, they really have.

I wonder if they need to forego one of the competitions and focus on the league because I think they've got as good a chance as anybody (of winning it).

They haven't got the biggest squad but if they play like today - and they've been playing like this for a while now, they've won nine out of 11 away in the league - that is title-winning form.

Harry Kane speaking to Sky Sports: "It was massive. We knew it would be a tough game and we went 1-0 behind.

"After that we created some good chances and took them. Second half we dominated the ball and took our chances again."

In the title race? "Everybody's been talking about Liverpool and Manchester City, and we've been getting on with it and doing well, like we normally do.

"It's important we carry that on now. The games are coming thick and fast but they're games we can definitely win.

"We've had a good month and hopefully we can take that into January now - and February - and we'll see where we're at come April time."

2018-19 is the first top-flight season to see at least three clubs amass 40+ points by Christmas (Liverpool 48, Man City 44, Spurs 42) since the 1985-86 campaign.
