The referee correctly awards a Palace goal kick and his decision is met by ironic cheers from the home supporters.

The corner is delivered into the box, and although Palace get it away, Chelsea regain possession through Willian, who drills an effort at goal.

This time Vicente Guaita gets a hand on it and Chelsea have a legitimate corner.

Eden Hazard wins a free-kick just outside the area which Willian stands over.

The Brazilian finds enough curl to beat Vicente Guaita but the ball clatters into the post.

However, the referee makes a mistake and awards a corner instead of a goal kick.

Chelsea were very patient, stringing together a series of passes, but there is not any room behind the Palace midfield for them to exploit.

Palace are so hard to break down with a five-man midfield packed in tight in front of the back four.

Chelsea move the ball from left to right, and back again without being able to penetrate the Palace defence.

In the end, Jorginho finds a yard of space before attempting a shot at goal from 25 yards.

He probably shouldn't have bothered as it goes out for a goalkick, close to the corner flag.

Olivier Giroud is not blessed with real pace and he just goes a little early. It was a wonderful hammered half-volley across the goalkeeper and into the far corner though once the flag was up.

Kepa shows he is more than just a goalkeeper as he adopts a sweeping role to race off his line and clear the ball up field, with Wilfired Zaha bearing down on goal.

Olivier Giroud has the ball in the Crystal Palace net with a crisp finish, but it is quickly ruled out for offside.

It's another great ball over the top by Jorginho, but the Frenchman is adjudged to have started his run slightly early.

There's just a bit of a lull in the game at the moment as both sides exchange possession in the middle of the field, without causing the opposition too much concern.

Olivier Giroud and N'Golo Kante link up again as the striker collects the second ball before back-heeling a pass into Kante's path.

He swings his right foot at the ball but his effort takes a huge deflection into the air and Palace are able to clear their lines.

It was an interesting call for Crystal Palace to stick with Vicente Guaita, signed from Getafe for a free transfer this summer, in goal despite Wayne Hennessey recovering from a back injury.

Maybe, after playing well against Manchester City, Roy Hodgson is going to keep faith with him.

N'Golo Kante goes close to breaking the deadlock after linking up well with fellow Frenchman Olivier Giroud.

The midfielder fires a shot at goal from outside of the area but it drifts past the post and out for a goal kick.

Chelsea have had just over 62% possession so far, but they are yet to generate any clear openings.

Palace are resolute in their system and they remain difficult to break down.

Willian lifts the ball into the Palace box and Antonio Rudiger manages to peel off his marker, but he can only divert his header over the bar for a goal kick. Let off for Palace.

You saw in their win away to Manchester City, Crystal Palace like playing teams that come onto them.

They are compact from the start with Andros Townsend tucking in on the right to make up a five-man midfield and Wilfried Zaha alone up top. There is plenty of pace for them to hit back on the break and they pose an aerial threat at set-pieces.
