    Arsenal 1-0 Fulham

That was neat, slick football from Arsenal as Alex Iwobi's cute backheel feeds the over-lapping Sead Kolasinac.

His cut-back to Granit Xhaka is decent, but a combination of goalkeeper Sergio Rico and defender Tim Ream save Fulham's bacon.

It is all about Sessegon and Mitrovic for Fulham. Joe Byran clips the ball in too high, Mitrovic jumped like a gazelle and headed it as well as anyone could do. The keeper has done well to get to the bounce.

    Arsenal 1-0 Fulham

Arsenal still look flakier that filo pastry at the back.

Laurent Koscielny and Shkodran Mustafi are outleaped by Aleksandar Mitrovic as Fulham pepper the Gunners box with cross.

Bernd Leno holds the Serbian's header on the line.

Akshay: This Arsenal defence is making Fulham look like Barcelona and Sessegnon Messi. Rubbish first 20-minutes. Xhaka's goal cannot hide defensive frailties.

Jamu: Granit Xhaka's goal for Arsenal doesnt move me neither did Iwobi's assist. Xhaka is giving the ball away so many times and Iwobi wastes more than he creates

Andre Schurrle - formerly of Chelsea, now of Fulham - takes on a 25-yard effort, but gets underneath it a little.

Bernd Leno is happy to wave it on it's way.

Prior to that goal Granit Xhaka was the pantomime villain. How he wound up that far into the box is beyond me.

Sums up Fulham, they were in the game but let Xhaka into box unmarked. He's ambled into the box and there is only contact from a defender when he goes to shoot.

GOAL - Arsenal 1-0 Fulhampublished at 25 mins

    Granit Xhaka

Just not good enough from the Fulham defence.

Alex Iwobi is afforded time and space on the right wing and takes the chance to get his head up and pick out Granit Xhaka with a dinked cross.

The Swiss international takes the ball down on his chest before stabbing a volley past Sergio Rico from close range.

    Too easy.

    Arsenal 0-0 Fulham

    Paul Parker
Ex-Fulham and Manchester United defender on BBC Radio London

Fulham are looking like the more effective side and Arsenal are looking poor at the back. They are not opening up Fulham and the strikers can't get a touch because the midfield is poor.

Granit Xhaka is giving it up cheaply as they are playing so negatively, the ball is just going sideways and backwards.

David: This game is already crying out for Ramsey or Ozil. There’s no link in the middle

B Chowdhury: Arsenal without Ozil and Sanchez are like Bolton of the past, hard working and little class

    Arghh!

Ryan Sessegnon lies on the turf with his head in his hands.

A total air-swipe as Andre Schurrle's cross drops to him five yards out.

    Should've have been the opener.

Fulham are clearly looking to release Ryan Sessegnon's pace against the left-side of the Arsenal defence.

He is almost in again, but this time the offside flag is up against him.

  12. Postpublished at 20 mins

    Arsenal 0-0 Fulham

Arsenal attempt to pass it out from the back.

Shkodran Mustafi takes a look at Fulham's press and instead chips into midfield.

It takes a quick bit of tidying up from Matteo Guendouzi to regain possession for the home side.

When you see Ryan Sessegnon in that position you say it is a goal. I hope he gets another opportunity as in many games this season Fulham have had an early chance, missed and haven't won the game.

There are opportunities to get at the Arsenal defence but you have to take them. They didn't take that one.

  14. CLOSE!published at 18 mins

    Arsenal 0-0 Fulham

That was the sort of attack to give Arsenal fans flashback to Anfield at the weekend.

Fulham slice open the hosts via a lovely cushioned lay-off from Andre Schurrle and Tom Cairney's weighted ball in behind.

Ryan Sessegnon's raking stride takes him clear of his pursuers, but he can only curl his low shot wide as he cuts in from the right wing.

    Should have done better.

Aleksandar Mitrovic cops a bang to the base of his back, but he is ok to continue.

Alex Iwobi's pass looking for Alexandre Lacazette is overcooked as Arsenal make moves in attack.

Fulham have come out a bit more in the last few minutes and they had to change things or it was only going one way. They were showing a real reluctance to come out.

Sead Kolasinac barges and bustles his way to the byeline like a runaway boulder to earn Arsenal a corner.

Nothing coming from that though as Granit Xhaka's delivery curls out of play before landing in the penalty box.

Joe Bryan hits a cross-shot into the Arsenal box, cleared by Sead Kolasinac.

Andre Schurrle with the chance to deliver from the left flank, but that is a dolly for Bernd Leno in the home goal.

The visitors are asking the question at least though.

Arsenal carve open the Fulham defence inside 90 seconds.

Tom Cairney is caught in midfield, dawdling on the ball. Alexandre Lacazette nibbles at his ankles, the counter-attack is launched with Alex Iwobi sprung down the left wing.

A low cross into the box which Pierre Emerick Aubameyang knocks over the top, under pressure from a stretching Tim Ream.

A warning shot from the hosts.

I think Fulham will sit back. I was surprised, and Huddersfield were even more so, at just how much of the ball they got against Fulham. They didn’t know what to do with that much possession. They can’t allow Arsenal that much of the ball and get away with it.
