  1. PENALTY APPEALpublished at 20:59 Greenwich Mean Time 2 January 2019

    Huddersfield 1-1 Burnley

Phillip Billing's header hits Ben Mee on the arm. Huddersfield are appealing and they should do - it could have been a penalty. But the referee waves it away.

  2. Postpublished at 20:57 Greenwich Mean Time 2 January 2019

    Chelsea 0-0 Southampton

Not clicking for Chelsea tonight. Gianfranco Zola looks frustrated on the bench, rocking back in his seat. Get your boots on!

Josh Earl: wasn't expecting anything other than difficult test from Newcastle tonight, you can't take teams apart every week in the Premier League. In Solskjaer we trust! Hoping we step it up a gear second half and pile the pressure on. Game changers on the bench if needed!

James Caveney: Valencia & Matic have been dire so far - Valencia/Mata combo doesn’t work in the slightest (common theme here) and not sure how Lascelles is still on the pitch to be honest - talk about kicking lumps

James A Young: The only way I can see Morata scoring is if someone places the ball on the Southampton goal line and clears the box, including the Saints goalkeeper. Zero confidence and less interest.

  4. CLOSE!published at 20:56 Greenwich Mean Time 2 January 2019

    West Ham 0-0 Burnley

Felipe Anderson drives through the middle and the Brighton defence fall back, giving him space to set himself and shoot. His shot is a good one and the keeper was beaten but it dribbled just inches wide of the right post. That couldn't have been any closer!

  5. CLOSE!published at 20:55 Greenwich Mean Time 2 January 2019

    Huddersfield 1-1 Burnley

Burnley's corner is a good one and Jonas Lossl fails to deal with it. Chris Wood's header at the back post is off target though. Great chance!

  6. Schindler's misspublished at 20:55 Greenwich Mean Time 2 January 2019

    Huddersfield 1-1 Burnley

    Simon Stone
BBC Sport at John Smith's Stadium

The word is Christopher Schindler did indeed fail to realise he had been given a yellow card prior to the caution that led to his dismissal.

That could turn out to be a very costly oversight.

  7. 'Newcastle created the better chances'published at 20:54 Greenwich Mean Time 2 January 2019

    Newcastle 0-0 Man Utd HT

    Alan Shearer
Former England captain on Radio 5 live

The ball fell to Christian Atsu two or three times but he wasn't able to capitalise.

Newcastle definitely created the better chances.

Defence-wise Newcastle have played very well, getting Ritchie back to make it a five at the back.

United are just not able to get through with their passing because of how tight Newcastle are.

    Huddersfield 1-1 Burnley

A quiet start to the second half over in Huddersfield. Can Burnley take advantage of the extra man? Big 45 minutes for them.

  9. Postpublished at 20:53 Greenwich Mean Time 2 January 2019

    Chelsea 0-0 Southampton

Southampton, and Stuart Armstrong in particular, have started the secondhalf very brightly. The former Celtic man skins his man down the left wing and is nearly clean through on goal - Daivd Luiz has to make a last-ditch challenge and gets it bang on.

  10. Postpublished at 20:51 Greenwich Mean Time 2 January 2019

    West Ham 0-0 Brighton

Marko Arnautovic finds Lucas Perez in space in the centre. It's two-on-two but the substitute's first touch is a poor one and he can't get it out of his feet before the tackles come in.

  11. GREAT SAVE!published at 20:49 Greenwich Mean Time 2 January 2019

    Chelsea 0-0 Southampton

Stuart Armstrong can hit a ball can't he? Beautiful strike from the Saints midfielder, bend and whip from 25 yards but Kepa watches it all the way and pushes it clear.

  12. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 20:49 Greenwich Mean Time 2 January 2019

    West Ham 0-0 Brighton

Lucas Perez is on for Andy Carroll. A short evening for the striker on his return to the starting XI.

Jonny H: Re Henry Hall (20.34) you seem to have inspired some LIQUID FOOTBALL at the Vitality

Noreman: Just three more goals, please, Bournemouth, and that’ll be 10 for the season v Watford. Nice payback for that 6-1 reverse a few years ago.

Paul T: Of course I benched Ryan Fraser in my FPL team...

  19. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 20:47 Greenwich Mean Time 2 January 2019

Fear not, goal fans - Southampton are sending on Shane Long at the break. For Danny Ings though.

  20. Postpublished at 20:46 Greenwich Mean Time 2 January 2019

    Newcastle 0-0 Man Utd

    Alan Shearer
Former England captain on Radio 5 live

The Newcastle backline is very compact, tight and together. Manchester United aren't able to find any spaces in there at the moment.
