There's just been a video message from David Wagner played on the big screen.

Huge cheers and applause for the departed gaffer as you may expect.

    That's the whistle.

Manchester City should probably have had a penalty but instead they got a nice slice of luck with that deflected Danilo goal.

That's a bit better, Kevin de Bruyne finds a positive run from Kyle Walker and he slides Ilkay Gundogan in in the area only for him to shoot well wide when under pressure.

Kyle Walker passes the ball straight into touch about five yards behind Raheem Sterling. Poor stuff.

Mark Hudson cups his hands around his mouth and yells through them. If he can get his team in with just a one-goal deficit it will not be a bad thing. All it takes is a set piece or something to get back into it.

Again they have 10 behind the ball and just Adama Diakhaby chasing the ball as City knock it around their back four. Fair play to him though, his efforts set the tone and as it comes forward, others show the same work ethic to win it back.

Now then, Fernandinho is rolling around clutching his right ankle. Manchester City will not want to lose him. Jonathan Hogg left a bit on him. To be fair, you can't blame him as Hogg has watched the Brazilian dominate this game.

Up he gets, he's OK. Crisis averted.

  10. CLOSE!published at 40 mins

    Huddersfield 0-1 Man City

Fernandinho is playing his own game in some ways. The ball sticks to him time and again. He clips a lovely pass over the top and Ilkay Gundogan will pull it down. He does, he spins and he shoots wide via a deflection.

    Huddersfield 0-1 Man City

Ilkay Gundogan swings in a free-kick, punched by Jonas Lossl but the flag is up for offside.

This graphic kind of shows how vanilla City have been. For all the ball they've had in midfield, they've had only five touches in the box so far.

A yellow card was the right decision (for the Walker challenge). They were flying in at 100 miles an hour and at that speed it looks worse than it was.

For Bacuna's on Laporte it was a disappointing decision. It was an honest attempt to go for the ball, I think that decision was wrong.

A lovely long ball over the top from Fernandinho - who is running this game - picks out Raheem Sterling but his first-time cross is dived upon by Jonas Lossl.

    Huddersfield 0-1 Man City

In fairness to Huddersfield they are doing decently in this opening 30 minutes or so. A couple of shots, plenty of effort and without too many scares. They've been quite secure and only that fortunate strike from range has hurt them.

Patient stuff at the moment as Fernandinho and Nicolas Otamendi exchange passes. Ilkay Gundogan crosses poorly and that's a goal kick.

Juninho Bacuna attacked the cross from Adama Diakhaby and in doing so followed through to catch Aymeric Laporte on the side of his shin. It was a painful one and the big defender needs some attention.

I think he will be OK.

Terence Kongolo has the chance to shoot from 20 yards when the ball is nicely teed up for him by Elias Kachunga. The volley is held easily.

But Huddersfield have their tails up and come forward once more down the left... Adama Diakhaby delivers to the near post, cleared by Aymeric Laporte.

I am now sure how Danilo gets that goal but Conor Coady is given an own goal when Harvey Barnes struck at goal for Leicester at Wolves yesterday.

But anyway, Huddersfield are refusing to go under in the face of pressure and Jonathan Hogg snaps into a tackle in midfield to win a free-kick as a challenge comes in late on him.

Can they deliver any quality from this dead ball?

Jason Puncheon... poor ball... cleared. In it comes again... cleared. Wide to Chris Lowe and he is absolutely nailed by Kyle Walker.

    That will be a yellow.

It appears Danilo is being credited with the goal, his first of the season.

Man City now have 21 without reply in all competitions.

    Huddersfield 0-1 Man City

It took City 38 games to reach 100 goals last season (in all competitions).

Kevin De Bruyne was the man who brought up the milestone, in a 3-0 win over West Brom on 31 January.

They had 101 goals coming at an average of 2.6 goals per game.

This is their 35th game of the current campaign, with the goals coming at an average of 2.9 - unless there's any more today!

Huddersfield respond well winning a corner down the left flank and then produce some nice link-up play down the right but there's no final ball on offer.

Manchester City switch play with a diagonal and win a corner for their efforts. Kevin de Bruyne takes it short and crosses for Fernandinho.... blocked... corner again.

In it comes again, Fernandinho gets a head on it... wide.

    A decent chance.
