Luka Zahovic twists away from a couple of Rangers defenders to make his way into the penalty area from the right but rather than shoot from a promising position he tries a pass back the way, which is intercepted. Very odd. Really poor decision making.

Rangers have started the second period well, putting so much effort into their performance to limit Maribor to half-chances here and there. At the same time, they look like they can create on the counter-attack and an away goal now would surely see them through,

The home side are starting to leave a few gaps at the back and Alfredo Morelos picks out Jamie Murphy with a lovely pass. Murphy's first touch is not the best and his shot comes into the same category as he drags the ball wide.

Maribor are forced into a change as full-back Denis Klinar pulls up with an injury and on comes Aleks Pihler.

Maribor open up Rangers with some neat passing and Dino Hotic has a decent glimpse of goal only to hurriedly scuff his shot, allowing James Tavernier to block.

Here come Rangers on a counter-attack and an awkward shot from Daniel Candeias is too hot for the keeper to handle. Andy Halliday then has the ball in the net from an Alfredo Morelos cutback but the ball had gone out of play before the Colombian got there.

We're up and running again. Can Rangers get the job done?

Rangers have had to weather a few first-half storms, but have done so successfully and the Maribor fans are frustrated as the teams head in at the break. The visitors are being forced to work ever so hard, but Steven Gerrard has Rangers well organised.

It's of no relevance to Hibs fans now but Zenit St Petersburg have recovered from a 4-0 first leg loss to take Dinamo Minsk to extra time in Russia. Molde will meet the winners of that one in the play-off round.

Remember, Rangers will be going to Russia if they come through tonight, with FC Ufa waiting.

So far so good for Rangers. The visitors have done well to flood the midfield, using wingers Jamie Murphy and Daniel Candeias in narrower roles.

Maribor have shown a few flashes of menace but it's not exactly been an onslaught.

Maribor try their luck again in the search for a goal before half-time. Blaz Vrhovec sends a shot straight at Allan McGregor, while 60 seconds later Alfredo Morelos does likewise to get Rangers' first shot on target.

Terrific stop from Allan McGregor keeps Maribor out. Directly from the free-kick that penalised Ryan Jack, Amir Dervisevic bends an incredible left-footed free-kick around the outside of the Rangers wall from 35 yards towards the top left corner. McGregor somehow defies his 36 years to claw the ball away. Great save.

A third Rangers player goes into the book as Ryan Jack is cautioned for a deliberate trip on Marcos Tavares 35 yards out.

It's all over for Hibs in Europe. A dismal defeat on the night, with Molde not having to work particularly hard for their goals.

Too many players in green just weren't at it against the physically imposing hosts.

Another yellow card for the visitors, this time it's for Daniel Candeias. He jumps for a high ball with Blaz Vrhovez and his elbow connects with the Maribor defender.

It just won't go in for Hibs as they chase a consolation. This time it's Ryan Porteous throwing himself at the ball inside the six yard box but he can only clatter into the goalkeeper.
