    FT: Bolton 0-1 Blackburn

Blackburn goalscorer Bradley Dack tells Sky Sports: "It's a massive win. We knew it would be a hard game. We showed great grit and determination. It's been a great start for us and we feel we could have picked up a few more points, but we'd have taken being just outside the play-offs at this stage."

Midfielder Jack Rodwell: "To get this result and what it means for the fans makes it a special day. There was great team spirit in the second half. Bradley's a great player and if he keeps doing what he's doing, we'll be all right."

Drama at the University of Bolton Stadium.

Bolton are awarded a penalty for a push on Christian Doidge, but the assistant referee attracts the attention of the ref and tells him Doidge was offside.

Which he was. A good call from the officials.

A left-wing cross from Bolton finds the head of sub Christian Doidge, whose header is palmed away acrobatically for a corner.

The follow-up is nodded wide by defender David Wheater.

Latest: Manchester United 2-2 Newcastle United

Heading towards the last 10 minutes at Old Trafford as well where Manchester United have come back from 2-0 behind at half-time to level at 2-2 against Newcastle United.

Are those goals from Juan Mata and Anthony Martial going to be enough to save Jose Mourinho an uncomfortable weekend?

FT: Sheffield United 1-0 Hull City

    Nigel AdkinsImage source, Rex Features

Hull City dropped to the foot of the Championship - their lowest league position for 12 years - after losing 1-0 at Sheffield United.

But Tigers boss Nigel Adkins told BBC Radio Humberside that there is hope going forward.

"You don't want to be in that situation," he said. "But the only was is up, we've got to keep pushing on.

"We have to look at it that the three games we've had this week were against the top three sides in the division.

"If we can put performances and the graft in that we've gone and done moving forward then I'm sure we're going to pick more points up.

"Yes we're bottom of the league, but sometimes it's fine margins."

    Bolton 0-1 Blackburn

    Oh dear, Yanic Wildschut.

A great build-up leaves the Bolton substitute free inside the box near the byline, but his cross is a tame one - almost a backpass to Rovers goalkeeper David Raya.

Adam Armstrong is on for Kasey Palmer for Blackburn.

    Bolton 0-1 Blackburn

Blackburn's Harrison Reed is booked for taking too long to take a throw-in.

Lloyd Dyer replaces Craig Noone for Bolton.

Blackburn have lots of possession in decent attacking areas but have been guilty at times of not having a shot, as is proved when Richie Smallwood is teed up on the edge of the box but is slightly tentative in his approach to the ball and he ends up being challenged.

Bradley Dack's eighth goal in 10 league and cup appearances this season (not a bad return for an attacking midfielder!) remains the only goal of the game so far.

  15. Monk praises 'solid' Birmingham Citypublished at 18:49 British Summer Time 6 October 2018

    FT: Birmingham City 3-1 Rotherham

After more than two months of trying, Birmingham City finally got a home win in the Championship this season.

Their 3-1 victory over Rotherham moved City up to 17th in the division.

"We knew it was an important game to try to get that win at home in front of our fans and give them something," manager Garry Monk told BBC WM.

"It wasn't spectacular by any means, but it was solid.

"We knew today was about getting the job done and we got it done comfortably enough.

"Lukas Jutkiewicz got a hat-trick and I'm really pleased for him, but the three points was the most important thing today."

  16. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 59 mins

    Bolton 0-1 Blackburn

A change in Blackburn's midfield as Jack Rodwell, making his first league start for Rovers, is replaced by Richie Smallwood.

  17. Postpublished at 56 mins

    Bolton 0-1 Blackburn

Almost the strangest goal of the season as Bolton's Pawel Olkowski slides in on Elliott Bennett an blocks his clearance.

It ends up almost looping over Blackburn keeper David Raya, but he's back in time to grasp the ball safely.

  18. Postpublished at 52 mins

    Bolton 0-1 Blackburn

There's been a Josh Magennis booking and not much else in the first seven minutes of the second half.

Rovers will be happy to keep the game like this, with not too much incident.

Preston finally got their first win of the season - and in style as they beat Wigan 4-0 at Deepdale.

But they could have had five had Alan Browne's shot been 3.68mm further towards the line.

To put that in context that's about the width of the average woman's wedding ring.

Goal line technology ruled out his 49th-minute strike which came down off the underside of the bar as he just missed out on a fourth goal of the season.

  20. KICK-OFFpublished at 18:32 British Summer Time 6 October 2018

More EFL reaction to come, but in the meantime they're back under way in Bolton.

There's a Wanderers substitute to tell you about - Yanic Wildschut is on for Will Buckley.
