  2. 'We're good enough to stay up'published at 16:00 British Summer Time 30 September 2018

    FT Livingston 1-0 Rangers

Livingston manager Gary Holt tells BBC Sportsound: "I'm over the moon for them. They got what they deserved today, on chances we maybe could have scored a couple more and made it a wee bit more comfortable for us.

"It's something me and the staff try and hammer home to them. You've got a clean sheet before the game, don't give it away. Try you hardest to put your body on the line and your head on the line and I've got boys that will do that.

"We're seven games in there's 31 to go and we know we're relegation favourites, we were before the start of the season. We want to buck the trend, we want to maybe stick two fingers up and say we're good enough to stay up."

  3. 'Not good enough Rangers need to take criticism'published at 15:55 British Summer Time 30 September 2018

    FT: Livingston 1-0 Rangers

Rangers manager Steven Gerrard on Sky Sports: "Disappointment. Three points dropped. Credit to Livingston, they deserved it. We didn't create enough. We didn't get enough shots off at goal.

"We never had enough quality in terms of crosses, in terms of trying to disrupt their back three. When we got into good areas, we either over-hit the cross, under-hit the cross or they defended it quite well.

"In the final third today, we were nowhere near good enough. We could still be playing for a couple of days, I don't think we'd have scored.

"We've had praise and we've had a lot of credit. Now we have to take the criticism and when we're not good enough, I need to tell the players when they're not good enough.

"They've done ever so well so far so I can't go over the top in terms of criticism but we'll definitely analyse it and if individuals need to be told or they need to be told as a team, that's my job to do it.

"The squad's getting healthy now, there's a lot of competition. The one thing you don't want to do now as a player is play your way out of the team."

    FT: Livingston 1-0 Rangers

Livingston midfielder Keaghan Jacobs tells BBC Sportsound: "What a result for the boys, but the amount of effort and work we put into the game - I don't thjink anyone could say we didn't deserve it.

"That's the way we play every week. I think the boys outdone themselves today.

"We've shown that we've got what it takes to compete at this level. We do the dirty work at times but we can play football at times as well."

    Billy Dodds
    Former Scotland striker on Sportsound

"Proper defending. Not only that from this Livingston team. The set-up for the goal was excellent as well, the pull back and the passing.

"Every department of the pitch, have they got the physical strength? Yes. Have they got the mental strength? Yes. Can they be technical? Yes, on occasion.

"They are a breath of fresh air. They are safe. Make no mistakes about this. They are not going down this season. They have got too much about them."

    Quote Message

Livingston are horrible to play against but they are so effective at it. They do not give you any easy possession. If you take a touch of the ball they're bumping you or getting a leg between your legs to get the ball...
