Elsewhere, there is more cup action taking place tonight, as Man City Under-18s take on minnows Clevedon Town in the FA Youth Cup third round.

The West Country side - whose seniors play eight tiers below City - have battled through five rounds to get this far.

City's side includes a host of youth internationals, with Shaun Wright-Phillips' son, D'Margio, starting.

After 25 minutes, City are 2-0 up, after a cracking direct free-kick from Tommy Doyle doubled their lead.

Stuart Benns: why are people still referring to United as the biggest club in the world? How many European cups have they won compared to Real Madrid or Barcelona, Bayern Munich? Joke.

tsuelong: Someone should tell Dion they’re not even the biggest team in Manchester, let alone the world. Stop living in the past.

Dave StIves: To Dion Dublin. Man Utd were never the biggest club in the world! That's the problem! Deluded!

What an effort from Burton Albion.

It's only a few years since Bradford - then in League Two - went all the way to the final of course.

Alexander Skulnick: I struggle to understand the Carabao Cup. Do teams want to win it or is it just an inconvenience? Everyone complains about Spurs not winning any trophies. No Kane tonight against Arsenal of all teams. Does this mean they prioritise 3rd place over the Carabao Cup?

David (Lincoln City fan): It was always going to be easier for Arsenal to transition as the expectations had been on a downturn. Manchester United on the other hand had been the dominant force.

Lee: Davies at centre back against Aubameyang. Oh deary me, think I might have to take the dog for a walk later.

I wouldn't want to argue with Dion Dublin. He's massive.

But does that argument still hold sway?

I'm sure someone in the Woolworths boardroom said 10 years ago, 'We're the biggest shop on the high street. We don't need to change.'

Life is cyclical. Would you back Manchester United to win the league before Tottenham at the moment?

    Chelsea v Bournemouth (19:45 GMT)

Six changes for Chelsea, but they still look strong. Andreas Christensen, Emerson, Cesc Fabregas, Ross Barkley, Ruben Loftus-Cheek and Olivier Giroud are drafted in. Eden Hazard is on the bench.

Chelsea XI: Arrizabalaga, Azpilicueta, Rudiger, Christensen, Emerson Palmieri, Kovacic, Fabregas, Barkley, Willian, Giroud, Loftus-Cheek.

Subs: Kante, Hazard, Pedro, Caballero, Hudson-Odoi, Zappacosta, Luiz.

Striker Callum Wilson makes his first start for Bournemouth for two weeks after a hamstring problem.

Keeper Artur Boruc and Jack Simpson, Diego Rico, David Brooks and Lys Mousset also come into the XI. Nathan Ake, traditionally a centre-back, is going to play in midfield, apparently.

Bournemouth XI: Boruc, Steve Cook, Simpson, Daniels, Ibe, Stanislas, Brooks, Ake, Rico, Wilson, Mousset.

Subs: Surman, Pugh, King, Defoe, Fraser, Mings, Travers.

I don't understand why clubs don't want to pay big money for a manager. It makes much more sense, surley, to pay £40m on a good manager you may want than on a back-up full-back.

    Right?

He will be top of the list. His Tottenham side play attractive football, and he has spent very little in comparison to his Premier League rivals.

Spurs are largely built around players he didn't sign, but Pochettino has a reputation for extracting the maximum out of the squad he has and has been credited with developing several young English players at the core of Gareth Southgate's vibrant, exciting national side.

He's known to have a human touch with players and staff, plus he already works under a chairman - Daniel Levy - who operates almost like a technical director.

Real Madrid were also interested in him last summer and, though they have Santiago Solari in place until 2021,those rumours persist. So could it be a heavyweight clash between Real and United for the services of the highly rated Argentine?

Pochettino only signed a new five-year contract at Spurs last summer and still appears to be on an upward curve at a club set to make a delayed move into a new stadium. If he could be prised out of Levy's clutches, expect any club to pay at least £20m to release him from that deal.

At a news conference on Tuesday, Pochettino simply sent his "best wishes" to Jose Mourinho. Asked about being a "perfect fit" for United, he replied: "A lot of rumours that happen in my position at Tottenham - I cannot answer that type of question. I am focused on doing the best I can here."

Of course, the chief, the only, criticism often levelled at Poch is that he 'hasn't won anything.'

Could this competition be the first trophy off the rank?

The sizable obstacle in his way is the Arsenal. Who may have lost at the weekend for the first time in months but are having a fine season as well...

Steven Blake: Poch would be a great fit for Man Utd but the question is would he really leave Spurs at the moment? They are clearly the better team and heading in a better direction than Utd. Man Utd are a mess at the moment and I'm not sure he would leave to go there.

Howie of Spurs: Here's an indicator that Pochettino ain't leaving: he signed a FIVE-year contract a year ago, without a release clause, knowing Real Madrid, especially, hire managers every six months. Plus, he has no agent to do the devil's work.

Mike, Wilmslow: As a Tottenham fan, it would be very hard to see Pochettino leave the club. The way he almost batted it away yesterday was concerning. I think the stadium issue hasn't helped but the job he continues to do is phenomenal. The sooner we are in the stadium, the clearer the picture about progression will become. This will rumble on for a while.

Nigel Clough says his late father Brian would have been impressed by Burton Albion's performance in their Carabao Cup quarter-final win at Middlesbrough.

Jake Hesketh's goal saw the Brewers progress to a first major semi-final a decade after winning promotion into the English Football League.

"I think he'd have been proud of our clean sheet and the away performance that we put in," he said.

"I think he would have been proud of the way we went about it."
