I have just spent the last 10 minutes scanning the record books to see if this is Manchester City's biggest League Cup win.

My colleague Chris Bevan has a sneaking feeling it is seven. I had not got better than that when Kyle Walker scored City's eighth.

What I do know for certain is Manchester City's biggest ever win is 10-1 against Huddersfield in 1987.

Their highest score is 11, against Lincoln, who got three - in 1895.

I've gone with brackets for eight, not sure it's in the style guide. I don't think I've ever live texted a game with a team scoring eight.

Danilo is on for Kyle Walker, which means that Raheem Sterling won't get a run out.

They last got into double figures when they beat Huddersfield 10-1 in November 1987, when David White, Paul Stewart and Tony Adcock all got hat-tricks.

At the moment, Gabriel Jesus does not have to worry about whether he will get to keep the match ball.

The record win in a first leg of a League Cup semi-final is/was six goals.

The biggest win in any League Cup game is Liverpool v Fulham (10-0) in September 1986 and the same scoreline for West Ham v Bury in October 1983.
