I'm pretty sure that will be the easiest chance Marcus Harness will ever get against any Premier League side he plays against. He looked uncomfortable, and he tried to do the right thing but he put it over.

  2. CLOSE!published at 11 mins

    Man City 1-0 Burton

City now win a corner after good work from Kyle Walker but Burton defend it well. Albion have managed 20% of possession so far but do put together a neat move - and should score!

Lucas Akins puts a low ball across from the left, it runs through to Marcus Harness, who scored a hat-trick at Rochdale on Saturday, but he leans back and skies it!

    Good chance!

    Man City 1-0 Burton

City have already realised that Burton are staying narrow and compact, and all of the space is down the right and the left. That is where the goal came from.

    Man City 1-0 Burton

Pep Guardiola doesn't look too happy, he's out barking orders to someone in light blue as Burton clear their lines. Lovely one-touch football from City opens up the League One side and Leroy Sane is close to meeting a gem of a ball from Kevin de Bruyne.

I hope all the Burton fans made it in in time for kick-off - even though they are already behind. Gameplan A is out of the window already for Nigel Clough.

    Man City 1-0 Burton

That is just quality. We know it is going to be difficult for Burton tonight but they cannot afford to let City cross the ball time after time. They are too good and they will pick someone out, as they already have.

    Kevin de Bruyne

Easy as you like. David Silva, a wizard on the ball, whips in a beautifully judged cross from the left, Kevin de Bruyne makes a perfectly-timed run into the penalty area and plants a header low past Bradley Collins and into the net.

    Man City 0-0 Burton

I think we all expected to see Phli Foden play tonight. Pep has decided to see if young midfield duo Kevin de Bruyne and David Silva can cut it...

City cause a scramble in the area, two shots are blocked and Mr. Versatile Lucas Akins clears.

Richard: Do City fans even know they are playing tonight? It's a Semi-Final of a major competition and it looks so empty.

Matt: Why would Pep not start Foden? After all the stick hes been getting about not playing him enough would this not be the perfect opportunity?

Manchester City now with some patient build-up play before left-back Oleksandr Zinchenko hits a rasping long-ranger well wide.

John Murray is expecting a crowd of around 30,000 inside the Etihad tonight.

    Man City 0-0 Burton

It is a shot on target and Burton have been very positive from the kick off. Normally they play it back but they went for it.

I was here on Sunday, when I didn't expect a full house, but there more or less was one for the FA Cup third round hammering of Rotherham.

Tonight, with a place at Wembley at stake, there are lots of empty seats.

You would think it would be the other way round, although it is harder to get to games in midweek.

Man City v Burton (19:45 GMT)

    BBC Radio 5 live

Speaking to BBC Radio 5 live, Burton manager Nigel Clough said: "The experience is going to be a learning curve.

"We tell the players to watch the best players in the country and they are much better live than they are on the TV.

"We are in the bottom half of League One and you wouldn't give most teams in the Premier League a chance against them over two legs."
