I might be one of the only Burton fans walking to the game tonight. Delayed kick off would be a blessing - more time in the pub. Happy with a goal tonight for us no matter what the score.

The League Cup was Pep Guardiola's first trophy in England, and it was also the first won by Manuel Pellegrini as Manchester City manager in 2014.

But can you remember the 18 men who featured in the matchday squad as City came from behind to beat Sunderland 3-1 five years ago?

Not all Burton fans have travelled from Burton - fortunately for them.

Daniel, 21, is from the East Staffordshire town but is studying at Huddersfield University so - luckily for him - his journey was a short hop over the Pennines.

"This is big, very big... definitely our biggest game since we drew 0-0 with Manchester United at home in the FA Cup in 2006," he told BBC Sport. "I went to that one too.

"It is an occasion to treasure, so I am just glad to be here. As a fan, getting to the semi-finals is far enough, but if we can keep it tight tonight - within two goals - we have got every chance at home with our fans behind us."

Man City v Burton (19:45 GMT)

    BBC Radio 5 live

Speaking to BBC Radio 5 live, Burton Albion fan Emily said: "I am on the M6 just north of Stoke on Trent. I was at work this morning in London and I booked the afternoon off. I left London at 13:00 GMT and I made it past my parents house in Burton at around 15:45 and I've been at a standstill since 16:15.

"My brother is working in Scotland this week and he has pulled out all the stops to get to Manchester tonight but I have got his ticket. I've been trying to scan his ticket bar code so hopefully a nice steward will let him in. I'm not a fan that goes to every match but I've been going for a long time since we were in the non-league and this is quite a big deal. Occasions like this are really special for the smaller teams because they do not happen very often."

  12. When's the second leg?published at 18:51 Greenwich Mean Time 9 January 2019

Man City v Burton (19:45 GMT)

Away goals don't count in this year's semi-finals, with the second leg taking place on Wednesday 23 January.

If Burton are still in the tie they'll be very happy.

There are 28 club coaches from Burton making their way up the M6... only one was the in the coach park outside the Etihad's away end when I walked past a few minutes ago.

Some of the 3,000+ Burton fans who have got tickets have made it here on time, although they are more realistic than optimistic about their side's chances tonight.

Gary (left) who has travelled up with his friends James and Matt (right) told BBC Sport: "This is our cup final. We are not going to win but you never know - and we are up here to support our team.

"If we only lose 3-1 tonight, we will be chuffed to bits and we will go back to the Pirelli Stadium with the tie still alive, and we might have a chance."

  18. What happened last night?published at 18:39 Greenwich Mean Time 9 January 2019

    Tottenham 1-0 Chelsea

Spurs won 1-0 and neither manager was too happy about the use of VAR.

Chelsea manager Maurizio Sarri and Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino were not impressed with the video assistant referee.

The system awarded Harry Kane the penalty that won the game, after the VAR camera suggested Kane was onside. However, Chelsea showed a screenshot after the game that suggested he was offside.
