    Chelsea 0-0 Manchester City

I can't believe Pedro didn't hit that. Same end of Wembley where he scored in the 2011 Champions League final. City attack, N'Golo Kante makes a cracking tackle. It's a much better game in the second half. Still not the best but at least it's tense now.

    Chelsea 0-0 Manchester City

Eden Hazard, what a player! He glides past two men in midfield and plays in Pedro, inside the area, he tries to pass it back to Hazard though.

    SHOOOOOOTTTT MANNN!!!!

He's put a few under the wall but Kevin de Bruyne goes over it this time - well over the top.

Still just the one, tame shot on target all game. From either side.

  5. YELLOW CARDpublished at 72 mins

    Chelsea 0-0 Manchester City

Toni Rudiger brings down David Silva right on the edge of the area, the German international has to dive in and take him out. A booking very much taken for the team.

Free-kick in a very good spot for City though.

    Chelsea 0-0 Manchester City

Chelsea are definitely growing as a threat - Pedro hits a belting crossfield pass to Willian, right wing to left, he cuts it back to Ross Barkley who shoots over from the corner of the area.

Chelsea fans behind that goal grow in volume again...

It's a tight game and City really have to be careful. They know that as much as they're dominating they could get caught out very quickly.

Chelsea are playing this way to frustrate City, they're doing that and slowly we're seeing mistakes creeping into City's game. They are all little wins for Chelsea - they will feel that and they need to use those little opportunities.

This plan is working. They've not done much running and so they can break as much as they want. The chances will come.

A few fans cry 'shoootttt!' as City twice have the ball on the edge of the area before man-machine Eden Hazard gets in to win the ball back.

It is not a thriller, but it is intriguingly poised.

BBC Sport chief football writer at Wembley

Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola goes down on in haunches as Kevin de Bruyne turns brilliantly then over-hits a pass intended for Raheem Sterling.

Chelsea still right in this but so reliant on a moment of genius from Eden Hazard, who is isolated - but shows what he can do by almost creating the opener for N'Golo Kante.

  11. CLOSE!published at 66 mins

    Chelsea 0-0 Manchester City

Absolutely brilliant form Eden Hazard! He is making this gameplan work for Chelsea. Willian, from secondary left-back, sends Hazard away over the top, he glides past Vincent Kompany and cuts it back, N'Golo Kante arrives on to it and shoots over from about eight yards out.

That's the best chance of the whole game!

This is gonna end nil nil, go to penalties, all players miss and require fans to step up.

Darkness has swiftly descended upon Wembley as Pep Guardiola paces up and down like an expectant father. He looks royally miffed to be honest. Patience is the name of the game.

No sign of Mateo Kovacic just yet, though Gonzalo Higuain has been out warming up. Chelsea have the ball in the corner but Ross Barkley shuffles it all the way back ot Kepa, to much groaning from the Chelsea end.

James: Wasn't offside - so that was what we technically know as a goal.

Chris: If level why is the goal disallowed? Benefit to attacking team.

Tom: Great use of VAR. Looked really tight but no clear and obvious error so not overturned.

We are back to Manchester City bossing possession again, but mostly in the middle third of the pitch. I wouldn't make any plans for another 30 minutes after full-time.

That looked to me like both players' feet were level. I saw an identical one when Southampton played Derby and it was given onside as the feet were level. I've definitely seen that given.

But the goal is still disallowed. Who knows?!
