That was nearly the worst goal ever conceded in a cup final. Willian puts in a free-kick, there is no Chelsea player in sight but Fernandinho and Nicolas Otamendi get in each other's way and Otamendi almost heads into his own net! A yard wide.

Brilliant from Eden Hazard, and he has to do it all on his own. He beats Aymeric Laporte down the left wing, comes inside, nutmegs Nicolas Otamendi, beats Laporte again but he has five men on him by the time he gets a shot away. It's blocked.

Superb from the Belgian though. Just a bit of a shame he's reduced to that role.

You can't take your eyes off Cesar Azpilicueta against Raheem Sterling. Sterling looks like he feels he can do what he wants against Azpilicueta, which shows the confidence of Raheem Sterling at the minute.

Azpilicueta has arguably been one of most consistent defenders in the league in the last five years but you can tell he's got a bit of fear when it comes to Raheem Sterling and how to handle him - he's not strong enough or quick enough to deal with him and Pep Guardiola will want him to test him as much as possible.

Good ball Oleksandr Zinchenko, he pops a diagonal half-volley into the area and Nicolas Otamendi is close to getting in at the back post. That's about as close to a chance as we can offer up.

Kevin de Bruyne with a free-kick for City, right through the back of the area and then David Luiz just about heads the second cross away...

The sitting in part is good - Chelsea are making it difficult for Man City but they need to do more of the other part.

They need to make City think they can't just go all out for this. When do we get to see the other side from Chelsea? That they play football as well and aren't just going to defend here.

Eden Hazard has had just 10 touches so far as he has to chase a lost cause down the right wing. Will Gonzalo Higuain get a look in at any point today?

I'm a long way away from being a spokesman for English football but if you cancelled plans/annoyed family members to build your Sunday around Man Utd 0-0 Liverpool and then this final I can only apologise.

Might as well have washed the car and mowed the lawn.

Chelsea manager Maurizio Sarri said he wanted his side to stay in the game as long as possible - unlike being 4-0 down at half-time at Etihad Stadium recently.

They are achieving their objective so far but it is turning this Carabao Cup Final into a grim war of attrition. Not a great spectacle.

From City's point of view, they're playing well but they're going to be very frustrated by this.

Chelsea are capable of catching them on the counter and they're set up to do so.

At this stage of the league meeting between these sides two weeks ago, Manchester City were winning 4-0. We've only had one shot all game so far - make that two!

Sergio Aguero rolls away from David Luiz in the D and gets a shot away, a very routine save for Kepa but at least it was an effort on goal.

Chelsea manage a counter-attack for the first real time, Willian and Eden Hazard link up well down the left before it goes right and Pedro is fouled by Oleksandr Zinchenko, who has been a bit rash in the tackle so far. Free-kick in a decent spot - comes to nothing.
