  1. 'Juve will deliver a show'published at 18:57 British Summer Time 23 October 2018

Man Utd v Juventus (20:00 BST)

Juventus were playing are as well as I have seen him in a long, long time, like during the 2015-16 season when they reached the Champions League final. The defeat they suffered to Real Madrid in Cardiff was a big surprise, they are back to those levels.

Not only because Cristiano Ronaldo is upfront scoring goals easily, they have great depth. Bringing Leonardo Bonucci back has been a big factor and they have been imperious.

People will look at it and say they have won it the last seven years, but Serie A was the only league last season with a title race. They do not get it all their own way and I expect them to put on a show against Manchester United.

There is a big debate in Italy whether this is the best Juve side EVER.

  6. 'Man Utd mediocrity'published at 18:51 British Summer Time 23 October 2018

Man Utd v Juventus (20:00 BST)

    Chris Sutton
Ex-Premier League striker on BBC Radio 5 live

Like a lot of Manchester United players, Romelu Lukaku has been off the pace.

I am sick of hearing "it is going to take time". They finished second last year and we thought they would improve this year and challenge for the title.

They are hardly reaching for the stars. It looks like they are accepting mediocrity.

  7. No changes for Jose...published at 18:50 British Summer Time 23 October 2018

Man Utd v Juventus (20:00 BST)

Marcus Rashford, Romelu Lukaku and Anthony Martial all start for Manchester United who are unchanged from Saturday's draw with Chelsea.

Mark: Has to be Beveren vs Lokeren in the early '80s when there was a real rivalry between the two; Lubanski, Lato, Larsen, Jean Janssens, Bob Stevens, Erwin Albert, two great teams.

  11. HALF-TIMEpublished at 18:44 British Summer Time 23 October 2018

The half-time whistles sound in Greece and Switzerland.

AEK Athens 0-0 Bayern Munich. The German side pressed and almost broke the deadlock in added time as Arjen Robbed crosses, prompting a clearance from in the six-yard box with the goal gaping.

In Switzerland it's Young Boys 0-1 Valencia. Michy Batshuayi with the only goal, a neat finish. His side have looked comfortable and are moving level with Manchester United in second-place in the group.

    Man Utd v Juventus

There is a real sense of occasion at Old Trafford tonight. A lot of fans appear to have turned up earlier than usual and it looks as if Juventus are going to enjoy a significant away following tonight.

  13. Easy progress?published at 18:38 British Summer Time 23 October 2018

    AEK Athens 0-0 Bayern Munich

The German champions have reached the quarter-finals at least in each of the last seven seasons.

    The run goes runners-up, winners, semi-final, semi-final, semi-final, quarter-final, semi-final.

This group then, featuring Ajax, Benfica and AEK, looks like something of an open goal.

  14. CLOSE!published at 18:37 British Summer Time 23 October 2018

    AEK Athens 0-0 Bayern Munich

Serge Gnabry has probably been Bayern's brightest spark down the left. He's already had three shots tonight, the latest of which sees him create space with clever feet and drill high into the side netting.

AEK on the ropes a touch as half time nears...

Team news from Shakhtar Donetsk v Manchester City coming up.

  16. No signs of worry...published at 18:34 British Summer Time 23 October 2018

    AEK Athens 0-0 Bayern Munich

Something of a midfield battle in Athens but Bayern carving more from the melee as they've had seven shots so far.

You'd not think they have just one win in five as there's not a lack of confidence on show. Perhaps a lack of conviction in the box but there'll be no panic if we go another 10 minutes and end up 0-0 at half-time.

Arjen Robben slides Joshua Kimmich in behind and not for the first time, Dmytro Chygrynskiy has to come up with a key block in the area to concede a corner.

  18. 'Juve will be ruthless'published at 18:27 British Summer Time 23 October 2018

Man Utd v Juventus (20:00 BST)

    Chris Sutton
Ex-Premier League striker on BBC Radio 5 live

I fear for Manchester United, I do not feel the togetherness. People will talk about the last two games but this is a step up - Juventus in Europe.

Juve will be ruthless, you look at the players at their disposal, Cristiano Ronaldo, Paulo Dybala, Blaise Matuidi, Miralem Pjanic - they all really good footballers.

United have to be at it from the off and need a big performance, if they win it could transform their season.

It’s a chilly autumn night at Old Trafford, but there is a decent choice of scarves on offer outside for Manchester United fans who want to keep warm and welcome back a former favourite at the same time...

  20. Postpublished at 18:26 British Summer Time 23 October 2018

    AEK Athens 0-0 Bayern Munich

That Valencia goal would take them level on points with Manchester United in second place in the group, the Red Devils play later of course.

Back in Athens, Bayern nearly lead as a ball across the face of goal just has too much on it for Robert Lewandowski to tap in. AEK are scrapping though and force an easy save from Manuel Neuer moments later. That's 30 minutes on the clock in these early games...
