It was a devastaing counter-attack from Juventus. Cristiano Ronaldo made the run behind Luke Shaw and there was a gaping hole between him and Victor Lindelof.

GOAL - Man Utd 0-1 Juventuspublished at 17 mins

    Paulo Dybala

    First blood to Juventus.

It's not scored by Cristiano Ronaldo, but the Portuguese is heavily involved.

He swings a cross in from the right which Chris Smalling cuts out at the front post ahead of Juan Cuadrado.

But the ball breaks loose nicely inside the box for Paulo Dybala to slot in from eight yards out.

An uphill struggle for United from here, we've seen them come from behind against Juve before though.

Should be an easy night for Juventus

    MikeyB (Utd Fan)

One of the main problems this season for United has been an out of form Lukaku. He's almost been a spectator at times and his finishing has been erratic.

    Man Utd 0-0 Juventus

    No friendships on show here.

Juve's France World Cup winner Blaise Matuidi clatters fellow countryman Paul Pogba from behind, earning United a free-kick.

Juan Mata swings the set-piece in which is met by the towering Pogba, but the header from 12 yards out is straight at Wojciech Szczesny.

    Man Utd 0-0 Juventus

United do not look confident at the back, no wonder Jose Mourinho is desperate to sign a new centre-back.

Paulo Dybala starts the move and almost finishes it, sneaking in between Victor Lindelof and Chris Smalling but an attempted header skims off his hair and away from danger.

Lindelof and Smalling stare daggers at each other, who was supposed to pick him up?

  9. Benzema gives Real the leadpublished at 20:15 British Summer Time 23 October 2018

It is goalless everywhere else at the moment, apart from at the Bernabeu where Karim Benzema has scored his 57th Champions League goal to give struggling champions Real Madrid the lead against Viktoria Plzen in Group G.

The Spanish giants lost to Levante at home last Saturday - their fourth defeat in five games.

Moments earlier, defender Sergio Ramos directed a header against Plzen's right-hand upright.

Stat: Benzema has scored for the 14th different season in the Champions League. Only Ryan Giggs (16), Raul (15) and Lionel Messi (14) have achieved this.

Shakhtar carved open again, only a matter of time before City score.

The fleet-footed David Silva slips a pass through to Gabriel Jesus and the Brazilian is in on goal, but his shot is snuffed out by a advancing Andriy Pyatov, sharply off his line.

    Man Utd 0-0 Juventus

    Phil Neville
Former England & Man Utd defender on BBC Radio 5 live

United are going to play a counter-attacking style through Marcus Rashford and Anthony Martial.

It's a big night for Nemanja Matic, in behind Cristiano Ronaldo. He had a poor game at Chelsea and looked injured but he has started the game well here.

A sniff of goal for Cristiano Ronaldo at the back post, peeling away from marker Chris Smalling but Juventus full-back Joao Cancelo's cross is a little too deep.

  15. CLOSE!published at 20:11 British Summer Time 23 October 2018

    Shakhtar Donetsk 0-0 Man City

    It's all City in Ukraine.

Kevin de Bruyne is getting back into the swing of things, working a short corner and he tries catching Andriy Pyatov out at the near post, but the Shakhtar goalkeeper claws the ball to safety.

10 minutes in and the visitors have had 97% possession (ninety seven).

  16. Ronaldo gives the thumbs uppublished at 20:09 British Summer Time 23 October 2018

    Man Utd 0-0 Juventus

    Chris Bevan
    BBC Sport at Old Trafford

That was all a bit weird. It took ages for the stewards to notice the pitch invader, who was desperate to reach Cristiano Ronaldo in the United area... but after running the length of the pitch he was rugby tackled about 10 yards from his goal.

Ronaldo did not seem too bothered and gave the fan a casual thumbs up as he was escorted from the field.

J, externalaylock: Finally Ashley Young will grow old by the end of this game marking CR7

It seems as if lately United have needed to concede a goal before reacting, maybe that ends tonight.

Andrew: Manchester United don’t have much impact on the bench. If Juventus take the lead tonight, United will find it hard to adjust and react.
