Even without counting for Lionel Messi's absence, it's a simpler picture for Spurs.
They just have to better Inter Milan's result tonight. The Italians are at home to PSV Eindhoven. Win in the Nou Camp = Champions League knockout stage.

The expectation is that Liverpool will win and go through. They know exactly what it's all about because they got to the final last season. But they are playing a very good side who know how to manage a football game, which might frustrate as long as it goes on.

Liverpool
So a quick reminder of the word of the day: permutations.
Liverpool need to win tonight. They will go through if they beat Napoli 1-0 or by two goals in any other scoreline.
If PSG fail to beat Red Star Belgrade, any victory sends the Reds through.

Ed Watson: It’s easy to forget, apparently, that it was Henderson absolutely bossing the Man City and Roma midfields that got Liverpool to the final last year. Of course he’s on Klopp’s team-sheet.

kevin k: Quietly confident tonight. This Liverpool team is too good to go out at the groups. 3-0 win, Salah to get at least two.

Tottenham should have won at Inter but they threw it away. They should have won at PSV but they threw it away. If they go out it's their own fault, so they need a big performance tonight.
Barcelona v Tottenham (20:00 GMT)
Barcelona have named a starting line-up with an average age of 25 years and 17 days - their youngest in a Champions League game since December 2015 v Bayer Leverkusen.
As well as 20-year-old midfield academy product Carles Alena, 18-year-old defender Juan Miranda also starts.

The Kop is suddenly in full voice as Liverpool end their warm-up - but no shortage of noise at the other end as Napoli's fans are already packed into their half of the Anfield Road end.

Tottenham Hotspur
Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino, speaking to BT Sport:
"Lionel Messi is on the bench but we are playing in Barcelona. We need to win. If we want to go through, we need to win. They have an unbelievable squad. If we are aggressive and show energy we will be close to winning.
"We are going to play one of the best teams in Europe. All the players who do not play consistently for them, they play today and could play for any team in Europe."
On Kyle Walkers-Peters starting:
"One year ago he won the World Cup with England's youth side. He is young but of course can deal with the pressure of a game like this."
Liverpool v Napoli (20:00 GMT)
Liverpool
Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp, speaking to BT Sport: "It's in our hands but the little problem we have is that the other team is pretty good.
"I see this opportunity after a special group phase so far but at home it has been OK.
On needing the Liverpool fans to provide a special atmosphere: "If we ever needed it it is tonight. A good combination of a passionate performance on the pitch and a passionate performance in the stands.
"In the end it is a football game and there is a lot to do. We have the tools to do it."

If the game breaks, it will be a fantastic match of football. I don't think there will be much patience or lots of passing, it will be very entertaining.

Will that defeat at Red Star Belgrade prove decisive?
Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp says his players are "responsible for the situation" but can "put it right" against Napoli.
"We caused the situation, but we still have the chance to go through and that is pretty special," said Klopp. "I'm really looking forward to it.
"So far at home we have been good and we need to be even better on Tuesday. I told the boys if nothing special happens with a referee decision we will get what we deserve."

Surprised to hear so many voices calling for Keita and Fabinho over Hendo. Those players have hardly been a model of consistency this season. Shaqiri is a wildcard, but remains largely untested at this level. Klopp has, corrected in my view, opted for experience.

I think it is harder playing in the Europa League than in this competition. The games are more spaced out and the travelling is here, there and everywhere, on a Thursday night.
Tottenham have struggled before when they have been in it, so I think if you do not finish in the top two in your Champions League group, it is better to finish fourth than third.
Liverpool v Napoli (20:00 GMT)
Napoli's weekend featured an easy win over struggling Frosinone. They moved back eight points behind leaders Juventus in second place with a 4-0 home victory.
Adam Ounas - not a player I had noticed before - scored a sensational long-range effort.
Piotr Zielinski got the opener and there was a double for fellow Pole Arkadiusz Milik.

Look out for Carles Alena. He is considered to be the next big name to come through the ranks and be a regular for Barcelona.
