It's interesting looking at Jadon Sancho against Jan Vertonghen, he looks a little bit scared of him.

He's not used to someone being so tight to him. He's getting the ball to feet and laying it off.

It's a good test for him, he can't just use his speed. At the moment Vertonghen has got him tied up a little bit.

This is all part of his learning process.

Not there! Hugo Lloris plays a dodgy pass out to his defence and then Juan Foyth gets into a tangle, Christian Pulisic picks his pocket and has a shot saved by Lloris, though they had been let off the hook by a foul.

Very positive start by Spurs and that has given their fans early encouragement - great atmosphere inside Wembley with Borussia Dortmund having their usual superb following.

Whisper it quietly but after a season and three-quarters, after tonight, Tottenham might only have one more match to play at Wembley before moving into their new stadium, which is magnificent, if a little late being finished.

Tottenham have already confirmed their 2 March date with Arsenal will be played at Wembley, after that their next home game is due to be against Crystal Palace on 17 March.

However, if Palace beat Doncaster in the FA Cup fifth round on Sunday, that game will be off, meaning it will be April before Spurs' next home game - and then Tottenham really should be able to play at 'home'.

Barry Bantz: Dortmund showing great tactical maturity early on. Keeping ball despite the Spurs press. Spurs defensive line-up but Pochettino gone for mobility - name of the modern game

Peter Humfrey: As a neutral I'm torn here. Both teams avoid spending obscene sums and prioritise youth development.

Just like last night at Old Trafford, all the noise is coming from the away fans. Is this normal from PL teams?

Tottenham are really pressing the ball, the closing down machine is working.

But I do think they are susceptible to a ball over the top from Dortmund.

The midfield have just been unleashed.

    Ajax 0-0 Real Madrid

Lovely play from Ajax, looking too slick and fast for Real so far as Dusan Tadic sends Noussair Mazraoul into the area and he drags a shot wide from about 15 yards out.

Real under the cosh a bit here!

I was waiting for the net to bulge. Superb header from Sanchez over the top.

Lucas Moura just leaned back and sliced that one past the top corner.

    That was inches wide.

That chance came from another Spurs attack down the left wing. They have been favouring that side and so have Dortmund. Hard luck if you're sitting on the far stand at Wembley.

Ah that would have been brilliant! Almost a superb goal for Spurs!

Davinson Sanchez heads the ball on to Lucas Moura just inside the area, he takes the ball down on his chest and then cracks in a volley, just wide!

Jadon Sancho is going to test Tottenham tonight. He's got Jan Vertonghen playing at wing-back and then he has Toby Alderweireld marking him so two experienced players.

Going forward he's really going to test these two.

Tottenham have started with a really high press.

Jadon Sancho's first touch of the night comes on the left wing but he's mainly lining up on the right. Lovely tempo to the start of the game, high pressing from both sides.

I went out to Dortmund to interview Jadon Sancho nearly a year ago.

At the time he had just got to the fringes of the Dortmund team and I asked him whether he felt he had any chance of making England's World Cup squad.

"I had never even thought of that," he laughed.

Little did he know by the end of 2018 that whilst he might have missed Russia, he would be a senior international.
