Chris Agada: Real Madrid in summary: Ronaldo upfront and Sergio Ramos at the back. The team doesn't look Real without both of them.

Mo Aman: I always say Real Madrid are poor when they need a bit of good skill and now more than ever. You cannot concede two goals to Ajax in a champions League knockout round it really is embarrassing for their fans.

Mark Adamson: Madrid are definitely missing Ramos at the back tonight. If only he wasn’t suspended.

I've got to say, Dortmund's shape has caught Tottenham out. They're getting a lot of width, the full-backs are free all the time, so I'm surprised Mauricio Pochettino hasn't said 'I need to get a bit of width'. Play a 4-3-3 or a 4-5-1, just to stop their full-backs coming out.

Dean Wallace: Time for Bale to go! Clearly all the commotion around him right now is effecting his teammates. Harsh, maybe, but no point having a scapegoat if you can’t blame him for everything.

JP: Missing Ramos already. May end up being an expensive yellow card.

Alvaro Morata did the damage, nearly four years ago.

Dortmund have been the better side, which you'd expect, we thought they'd come straight out of the blocks, but they've only had one chance.

  9. Postpublished at 24 mins

Borussia Dortmund 0-0 Tottenham (Agg: 0-3)

Dortmund getting in behind so easily, Spurs have got to plug these gaps. Abdou Diallo is able to cut it back to Mario Gotze this time and his low shot is well charged down.

Borussia Dortmund 0-0 Tottenham (Agg: 0-3)

For those of you who aren't fluent in German, that Borussia Dortmund banner reads 'until we carry the pot over the turf like '97'.

I'm not fluent either, to be fair...the wonder of the web.

  11. GREAT SAVE!published at 21 mins

Borussia Dortmund 0-0 Tottenham (Agg: 0-3)

Hugo Lloris has been a bit questionable of late but that's a very smart save! Marco Reus, in a free role almost, is causing all manner of problems and he gets a cutback and fires in a shot which is deflected up into the air, Lloris bats it clear.

    There's a goal in this...

    It's happening, it's happening...

As I said, Ajax were brilliant in the first game and they've started in exactly the same fashion. It's another assist for Dusan Tadic, playing a brilliant pass into the run of David Neres, he is able to take it around Thibaut Courtois and clip it into the net.

Ajax lead! And they've cancelled out Real's two away goals too...

  14. CLOSE!published at 16 mins

Dortmund basically playing two at the back, Axel Witsel (28) in midfield and then everyone else up front.

    Compelling stuff.

This is the early storm Spurs would have been expecting. They're not quite on the rocks but they are checking the sonar and hoping to turn back to shallower waters.

    Or something.

What a tackle. Vertonghen had to get it right as well.

But again, there's no pressure on the ball. I'd be tempted to go back to a back four because Tottenham are all over the place at the moment.

It's so hectic. No time on the ball at all, Jadon Sancho powering away with menace on the Dortmund right but his cross is sliced.

Great tackle! Marco Reus is in on goal after a missed interception but Jan Vertonghen, scorer in the first leg, makes a brilliant, goal-saving challenge.

    Superb!

Tottenham aren't pressing the ball. Once Dortmund get over the halfway line they've got to start working harder. They're too deep.

Then when they get the ball they forget to play. They're so obsessed about stopping Dortmund they're just giving the balll away.
