If you're just tuning in, the Champions League has delivered the goods once again.

Manchester United were 2-0 down from the first leg but scored after just two minutes.

They must have played really well then? Well not really...

They were hanging on for most of the first half but still somehow took a 2-1 lead.

The second half was then cagey but Marcus Rashford scored a stoppage-time penalty to send them through - given after a tense wait for a VAR review.

United were a shambles for 35 minutes and they rode their luck, and they grew and grew and grew into the game.

There were some performances that were off the scale. We've hardly mentioned Scott McTominay but he was brilliant. His tackling, his bravery, all the way through the game.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer speaking to BT Sport: "Fantastic. The belief in the boys was what we hoped for. It was a great start - we planned to get the first goal but we didn't expect it after two minutes. That made it open, we wanted a lot of goals.

"There's always doubt about a penalty, I was in the Champions League with Molde against Basel and my player missed then and we went out. Rashford is 21 and the pressure on the boy - there are no nerves - he's fearless. Him and Romelu were fantastic tonight.

"That's the Champions League, it's what it does. Last night with Real and Ajax was our team-talk, it was probably theirs too. Last year it was Real and Juventus, there's been PSG and Barca too - it's this club, it's what we do, that's Man Utd.

"There's always mental doubt. Our boys are young and fresh which gave us more energy when we needed that goal."

On the penalty decision: "I had to try and calm everyone down, sit everyone down, my staff said the defender made himself bigger so it's a clear penalty."

On his future: "We don't chat now, it's too noisy and there's a great atmosphere in there. Until the summer, we will see what happens."

More from Ole Gunnar Solskjaer: "It's a typical Manchester United night, we had a game plan, the players were really great, they were focused, they listened to all the instructions like in training, and on the pitch they knew that we had to defend well, very low.

"There was a lot of quality, it's the best possible scenario with the fans, the players, the staff, everyone shares a huge pride, we knew that we would have to suffer.

There is no seeding or separation in the quarter-final draw so we could see some all-English ties.

The draw takes place on 15 March.

Have PSG got a collective issue, mentally, when it comes to the Champions League?

In 2017 they beat Barcelona 4-0 in the first leg and went on to lose 6-1 in the Nou Camp, making history in the process. They conceded three goals after the 88th minute!

Last season they were taken to the cleaners by Real Madrid and now, tonight, they blow a 2-0 first-leg lead against a Manchester United team without 10 key players and lose despite having 72.4% of the ball.

Romelu Lukaku speaking to BT Sport: "Me and Marcus Rashford knew we could do the business today after playing together against Fulham. It was a pleasure to play with him today like that.

"We agreed to step up the press together and I told him every time he shoots I would follow the ball in.

"We just keep going - everything starts on the training ground with 5 v 5, 6 v 6 and the competitiveness starts there. It's natural to us, we keep going until the referee blows the whistle."
