This is the sort of petty grudge we can all get behind

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer says 'of course he had doubts' when Marcus Rashford stepped up to take that penalty. Refreshing honesty, a lack of the usual trotted out cliches.

He's a very likable man, isn't he? Surely he will be given the gig full time.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer changed the formation three or four times in the game.

People said 'tactically, will he be good enough?' I think he showed again tonight why he should be given the job.

You've got to be brave as a manager. Everybody thinks Eric Bailly was injured. I think he limped off thinking 'get me off the pitch.' But Solskjaer made a big decision by taking Bailly off. He knew he was struggling.

PSG 1-3 Man Utd (Agg: 3-3)

Rio Ferdinand speaking on BT Sport: "What I love is the harmony in the group - there was a cold vibe going through this squad that I couldn't explain it. But it's been flipped on its head and Ole and his staff have changed these players.

"Lukaku is now talking glowingly about his partner up front - people who looked like strangers who are now team-mates. I was depressed walking into Old Trafford, now it's just positivity flying out."

Scott McTominay, Andreas Pereira and Fred - they never looked out of place. And that was the worry for us before the game, thinking 'going away to Paris, can they do it?'

But they were a different class. That's why, as a manager, you trust your players and give them an opportunity, and they took it tonight.

Marcus Rashford speaking to BT Sport about his penalty: "I think it was just about keeping a cool head. That's what you practice for. I wanted to take it.

"Those moments are the moments we live for, and we want to come out of them smiling after.

"Everything seemed to be against us but we're used to surviving these moments and we proved that again. We keep pushing and bettering ourselves.

"It's a beautiful thing, to have 10 players injured too, but its an opportunity and it's what they deserve."

We said how United only had a small chance but they had two world-class strikers up front.

Well, they both scored. OK, Romelu Lukaku got two of them, but the pressure on that penalty kick, on that young man Rashford is absolutely stunning. Well done him for doing it.

Scott McTominay was like Michael Carrick out there. He was calm, composed, won every tackle. He was like a seasoned pro, and playing in Paris was incredible.

If Ole Gunnar Solskjaer doesn't get that job tomorrow morning there's something wrong!

In the first half an hour or so, the Eric Bailly era, you could only see a PSG win. And a big win too.

They had 12 shots to United's five, they had 72.4% of the ball, they had a two-goal first-leg lead.

    And they still blew it.

PSG just sat. It was 2-1 and they thought they had a chance to see out the game. They knew the unlikelihood of Manchester United breaking and getting that other goal.

PSG had a few attacks every now and again but they didn't force the issue. That is one extraordinary chance to take when you're only clinging on by one goal.

Definite penalty. He had time to turn his whole body away from the ball but not his arm???

    Stu, Glasgow

That will go down with 1999 as the luckiest result in a Champions League match.

Clear penalty. Defender made his body bigger by having his hand away from his body. Had numerous penalties given against me for that in Sunday League and now I keep my hands behind my back at all times. A professional footballer who is PAID TO PLAY should be able to do the same.

    Tom, Edinburgh

One thing we have cleared up - that's a penalty in Scotland...

  20. 'Astonishing result' - Hargreavespublished at 22:16 Greenwich Mean Time 6 March 2019

Owen Hargreaves speaking on BT Sport: "United stayed in there. They were effective, they were clinical.

"With all those injuries it is an astonishing result. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has the magic touch, I'm very proud of Ole and all these players - they really deserve this."
