Michael Owen speaking on BT Sport: "When this draw was made I gave Manchester United no chance whatsoever. They were playing awful football under Jose Mourinho, they had no chance.

"What a difference, the whole spirit has changed - it's quite frightening how they've gone through tonight.

"With a neutral head I don't think it's a penalty in a million years. It's not a penalty for me or anybody in this room."

On Marcus Rashford's penalty: "There's no fun in that as a penalty talker - it's just relief. When that hits the net, it's a case of thank everything! In that position you just go numb. Others may feel differently but you just do it to be a leader."

You'll be amazed to hear that extra time has been utter tosh so far.

Get rid of it. The Carabao Cup is ahead of the curve.

To keep that confidence and belief that they could still do it, to hold off until the last 10 minutes and say 'we're going to sit, we're going to sit', and then go for the goal, and then get it...

Brett Mills: I'm a Chelsea fan and even I found tonight amazing viewing BUT can I ask everyone, in all honesty, if this decision was given against an English team how many comments would be calling for the rather more crude definition of 'shenanigans'? lets be honest

Sho: Incredible. Absolutely incredible. I have no words. We've made history. I'll be the first to admit it wasn't a penalty but oh my God I'm happy it was given. I can't believe it I just can't believe it

Bezaleel: PSG haven't learned their lessons in previous KO stages. They lack the ability to protect a lead and also maximize home advantage.

  6. 'I didn't see this coming'published at 22:09 Greenwich Mean Time 6 March 2019

PSG 1-3 Man Utd (Agg: 3-3, Man Utd progress on away goals)

Rio Ferdinand speaking on BT Sport: "I didn't have the confidence in these boys to do it, 10 boys out, I didn't see this result coming. The way PSG played in the first leg.

"Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was brave with his team selection, he had three teenagers on the pitch, the character of these players after the starvation of moments like this. The confidence this will give them.

"Ole has brought belief back to this team. People were doubting Lukaku - he's one of many who has been given a new lease of life.

"I don't think it's a penalty but turning your back, as a defender, you get punished for things like that."

People will moan about VAR but that was a clear penalty, wasn't it? Arm out, not looking at the ball...don't see how it can't be a penalty. Or am I missing something? And if it was a penalty, surely it's better that it was given than not given?

United were a shambles for 35 minutes and they rode their luck, and they grew and grew and grew into the game.

There were some performances that were off the scale. We've hardly mentioned Scott McTominay but he was brilliant. His tackling, his bravery, all the way through the game.

I'd put it as more than history, I'd put it as magical.

Not only have they done it but they have done it with a team that's missing 10 players, world-class players, with a stand-in manager, who's adapted and changed and played tactics that you wouldn't have considered.

This is why I love football. Two days of extraordinary results - the arrogant and disrespectful Madrid and Senor Ramos gone, and now the odious crybaby Neymar won't get to chest his way to glory. A victory for football.

    David, Sussex.

That's a bigger result than Turin for me, simply due to the comparison in the team sheets!! Buzzing!!!!! Name on the trophy?

Everyone talks about Liverpool, but is there a bigger bottle job of a club than PSG when it comes to anything other than the French league?

What an achievement that is. It's remarkable for Manchester United. They are the first team in the history of the Champions League and the European Cup to lose by two goals at home in the first leg and still go through.

Incredible scenes of celebration in one corner of the Parc des Princes.

Let's start the VAR debate now. Penalty?

Not one United player or fan would have appealed when Diogo Dalot's stoppage-time shot was deflected away for a corner.

It did hit the arm of Presnel Kimpembe, no doubt about that. But the defender turned his back, I'm not sure exactly what he could have done...

    Still - WHAT SPORTING DRAMA!

We didn't meet any Manchester United fans here who really thought it was going to happen tonight.

Even with two minutes to go in normal time you didn't think it was likely to happen.

This is utterly extraordinary at this level.
