It's a free hit for United tonight. Everyone expects them to go out, and they probably will, but if they play with the brio and panache that is the club tradition and get a few youngsters some game time, they'll win a few friends even if they lose the tie. And maybe, just maybe . . .

    Tony, Somerset

Call me an optimist but, if somehow United can score 1st tonight, the nerves and fragility of PSG will surely start to jangle.

Sir Alex Ferguson and Eric Cantona are both in the house, although not sitting together. Two legends of the game.

I wonder if Denis Irwin is there to square the circle.

Field: Zero nerves tonight. Even if we somehow go 2-0 up. OGS has rescued a dead season. No matter what happens between now and may, he is our manager. Has been class. Every game is a free game for him. Win, lose or draw. The fact we have any hope shows the job he's done.

Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer tells BT Sport: "We go into this game positively, knowing the players starting are all full internationals. We have players who are fresh, not played too much so we have to look at the positives.

"When you go to places like this, you have to stay in the game. We will have to play well with the ball and defend well. We need the first goal, we cannot give them that, it will be over if we do.

"Andrea Pereira scored a fantastic goal at the weekend and we have players who can create moments of magic. We have strong players from set-pieces so we are confident we can cause problems.

"Romelu Lukaku is in great form and he has really turned a corner, he has worked hard and is getting his rewards."

On the youngsters on the bench: "If we have to, if we need goals, we have Tahith Chong, Angel Gomes and Mason Greenwood, if we are chasing that one goal."

The Manchester United bench is barely old enough to travel alone let alone attempt a never done before comeback against PSG! Here's hoping they do themselves proud.

Rob Butler: If United played that midfield in a FA CUP game they’d get called disrespectful. God help them.

Mark Taylor: If Herrera, Pogba, Martial, Matic and Lingard were available this would still be a mountainous task, but without them I fear the worse, just hope Ole can continue weaving his magic. Maybe.

Fifteen minutes to kick-off - Ole Gunnar Solskjaer faces the cameras in positive mood.

"We start with 11 full internationals," he says. Which is a fine way to look at playing a weakened side.

Terrific atmosphere inside the Parc des Princes right now. Terrific stuff.

Incredibly enough, Manchester United have won only one of their last 10 Champions League knockout games (D3 L6), with this coming against Olympiakos in March 2014 (3-0 at Old Trafford).

Their last away win in the knockout stages came eight years ago against Schalke (2-0), in April 2011.

Only three other players - all outfield - have hit 60 already. Cristiano Ronaldo (76), Andrés Iniesta (64) and Lionel Messi (63).
