What an awful error by the great Gianluigi Buffon. He's 41 years old, and I have to say there, he looked it!

Eric Bailly's tough night at the office may be coming to an end early. He took a whack from the restart and he's not moving well now.

Angel di Maria is then booked for catching Scott McTominay. And then he fouls him again!

You could not see that coming in a million years. PSG have had 86% possession, they're creating chance after chance, cross after cross.

It's the bounce that foxed Buffon completely.

    Remarkable! Who needs possession anyway?!

PSG's away goals have been cancelled out and it's a shocker from the veteran Gianluigi Buffon. Marcus Rashford takes on a shot from a good 30 yards. He hits it well, it swerves and lands on a greasy pitch about six yards in front of Buffon.

But the 41-year-old has saved this shot thousands and thousands of time in his storied career. Instead, he shells it out, out of his grasp and it's a tap-in for Romelu Lukaku!

  5. CLOSE!published at 29 mins

PSG 1-1 Man Utd (Agg: 3-1)

It's been all PSG but the visitors do break away, and in the end it's a decent chance. Marcus Rashford sprints away, profiting from a slip in the PSG backline, but for once his decision making is not great.

Rashford fires the ball across with his left foot but it's neither shot nor cross really and Gigi Buffon can watch it go.

Because you've been under so much pressure, you just want to hold the ball up in the midfield, just to calm it down a bit.

The problem is United haven't got a midfield that can do that just now. They're being harassed there and it's giving them no chance at all to get a breather.

United's back 4 playing like they are complete strangers.

    Nicola, Bath.

United are getting killed in those wide areas. Bailly isn't a full-back. Why is Dalot on the bench? We need to get a grip on this because PSG are rampant.

    Joe Dempsey, Lancs

Defence was always going to let them down tonight. Bailly has dust on him & if Young doesn't judo throw you he won't catch you.

    Porto ahead on away goals!

Kostas Manolas loses the ball on halfway, Porto counter with pace and they square it for a tap-in for Francisco Soares! He could not miss.

There's a VAR review for offside but the goal stands...

Andreas Pereira is playing on the left of United's midfield four by the way. I haven't mentioned that side as the play has all been down the other flank. Kylian Mbappe spins out a beauty of a pass to Juan Bernat but this time the cross is stopped.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer must have told United to play as a tight back four. But then you can't play Ashley Young at right midfield.

You'd think Solskjaer would want to get a message across to adapt that.

I'm not sure Ashley Young is really at fault, if he's been asked to play right midfield. Eric Bailly is the man who is nominally playing as a full-back but he's an absolute fish out of water.

Babyboomer: Has Ashley Young bought a ticket to get in the ground tonight? He has spent most of his time watching instead of playing. Spectator while PSG are cutting United to ribbons down the right.

Robin Peckitt: Why did United bother giving Ashley Young a contract extension? Massive liability from a defensive point of view along with the fact there are better players that can play in the same position.

Memo to Manchester United: GET SOMEONE AT RIGHT-BACK!

Juan Bernat walks into the area totally free again, the PSG left-back has his own postcode at the back stick to get a pass from Angel di Maria and he shoots straight at David de Gea.

Then Di Maria fires in a shot from 20-odd yards which sails past the far corner.

Sho: Bailly at right back has been a disaster so far. Have to either change to 3 at the back or get Dalot on. Bailly doesn't have a clue out there.

Chuckle Brothers defending. I said it last night and I'll happily repeat myself: The knockout stage of the Champions League is just brilliant. Another level altogether.

Half a chance for the hosts as Kylian Mbappe just breezes past Victor Lindelof and shoots into the side-netting.
