Schalke have only touched the ball 15 times in the City half in the first 20 minutes and have not got near the home side's area but their fans are bouncing around as if they are 3-0 up and have not stopped singing since the game started. Not sure how they will react if they win a corner.

City have the ball in the back of the net...but the referee's whistle has already gone.

Ilkay Gundogan's free-kick is headed into the air by a Schalke defender and loops towards Ralf Fahrmann, but the visiting goalkeeper is blocked off the ball by Raheem Sterling as Aymeric Laporte slots into an open net.

Aguero can't believe he hasn't scored, but great play from Raheem Sterling.

Man City 0-0 Schalke (agg: 3-2)

City burst in behind for the first time and are close to finishing the game.

Kyle Walker picks out the run of Raheem Sterling down the right with a pin-point pass.

The in-form Englishman keeps his composure, looking up and seeing Sergio Aguero six yards out, but the Argentine's low shot hits the foot of the post.

Juve well on top, but the Atletico Madrid defenders won't be worried.

They've conceded one goal in the previous seven games against Italian sides.

    Solid, rock solid.

Shashank Natesh: What's the point of VAR when correct decisions aren't made when they go for a review? That's never a foul on Oblak!

Michael Reid: Do we play different football rules in the UK to the rest of Europe? That was a goal, 100%. Keeper never had control of the ball!

Dave Payn: Hmmm. Looked a valid goal to me from Juve.

  12. City ready for another grindpublished at 20:09 Greenwich Mean Time 12 March 2019

Man City 0-0 Schalke (agg 3-2)

    Chris Bevan
    BBC Sport at Etihad Stadium

Each of City's previous three Premier League games - against West Ham, Bournemouth and Watford - have seen their opposition sit deep and defend in numbers in the way Schalke are, so Pep Guardiola's side are used to this kind of test.

City won all three of those games, but in each of them they had to wait until the second half to open the scoring, so their fans - who are currently chanting about Raheem Sterling being top of the league - might have to wait a while before this tie is put to bed.

  16. DISALLOWED GOALpublished at 20:07 Greenwich Mean Time 12 March 2019

Juventus 0-0 Atletico Madrid (agg: 0-2)

    NOT GIVEN!

Atleti fail to clear a corner and Leonardo Bonucci's effort goes towards Jan Oblak, but it appears that Cristiano Ronaldo kicks the ball out of the goalkeeper's hands, allowing the tap-in from Giorgio Chiellini.

But did Oblak have both hands on the ball? That's what Ronaldo is asking.

Anyway, still 0-0, Atletico leading 2-0 on aggregate.

  19. No Schalke system workspublished at 20:04 Greenwich Mean Time 12 March 2019

Man City 0-0 Schalke (agg: 3-2)

    Pat Nevin

Looking at the last five games Schalke have played, they have not been playing well and changed their system every game - and none of them have worked out.

Manchester City have had most of the ball and it will be a tough defence to get through.
