Rafinha plays it long to Robert Lewandowski and Joel Matip uses his body to nudge him out of the way. Alisson comfortably gathers and the flag goes up for offside.

Sadio Mane tracks back to win the ball in midfield. James Milner sets Andy Robertson off down the left and receives it back on the edge of the box but he plays an aimless ball into the middle which is comfortably intercepted.

Trent Alexander-Arnold keeps the ball in play with a cheeky backheel to Mohamed Salah on the right wing.

The forward slips it back to Alexander-Arnold and his cross is cleared dangerously for a throw-in.

Arthur drives into the box and pokes it to his right for Lionel Messi. His chip is then cleared off the line by Fernando Marcal.

Franck Ribery is giving Trent Alexander-Arnold a rough night. He gets away down the left but his cut-back is intercepted by Joel Matip.

Liverpool break forward with pace and Mohamed Salah is able to charge through the middle. He unleashes a powerful strike but it's straight at Manuel Neuer and the rebound doesn't quite fall into the path of James Milner.

If it stays like this at the Allianz Liverpool go through.

Serge Gnabry runs at Andy Robertson and Fabinho tracks back to poke a toe in. He concedes a corner but Virgil van Dijk (who else?) heads it clear.

Liverpool are just struggling to string passes together at the moment. Mohamed Salah tries to lead a counter-attack but Georginio Wijnaldum can't get the ball out of his feet and has it nicked off him.

Big half. A place in the quarter-finals up for grabs.

Everything to play for, but as Liverpool are concerned 1-1 gets them through, but they can't play for 1-1.

Bayern have started to knock the ball about, which is a bit of a worry and half-time came at a good time for Liverpool.

Bayern have to commit men forward and if Liverpool get the chance to break they have to be absolutely ruthless. As people tire and the game opens up the opportunities will be greater.

It was a brilliant finish from Mane. He had a split-second to play the dink over the last Bayern defender.
