Barcelona 3-0 Man Utd (Agg: 4-0)

    Robbie Savage
Ex-Leicester City & Wales midfielder on BBC Radio 5 live

I learned that the initial re-energisation that Ole Gunnar Solskjaer brought to this Man Utd squad went on for a while longer than you usually see, but he now has an unenviable task of trying to rebuild this squad. It is going to be a transitional period for the club because they have to win titles but they are miles off.

On BT Sport, Owen Hargreaves says Lionel Messi's display was 'one of the best I've ever seen' while Rio Ferdinand says he 'put on a clinic' and the travelling Manchester United fans can at least say 'I was there'.

That's [at least] four brilliant performances in a row from Ajax in the Champions League. Can they go all the way?

Ash: 24 years ago, a young Ajax side featuring van der Sar, Reiziger, the de Boer brothers, Seedorf, Rijkjaard and Davids beat Milan 1-0 in the final before they got raided. Wonder if history will repeat. De Jong's already off to Barca. De Ligt will be next to leave.

Bradley: Beware of Ajax Europe! Something special is unfolding.

Herbert: Hand over 2019's Ballon D'or already. We all know the winner

  7. 'Solskjaer has a lot of work ahead'published at 21:56 British Summer Time 16 April 2019

Barcelona 3-0 Man Utd (Agg: 4-0)

    Darren Fletcher
Former Man Utd midfielder on BBC Radio 5 live

There was a gulf in quality between the two sides. PSG were the better side over two legs in the last round but United rode their luck. Tonight, Barcelona were on top and two wonder goals from Lionel Messi and Philippe Coutinho were the difference.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has a lot of work ahead of him tonight but he will have seen little things from his players tonight about who kept battling and who kept playing.

    Juventus 1-2 Ajax (Agg: 2-3)

What a season for this energetic, enterprising young Ajax side! They've gone to Real Madrid and won, gone to Juventus and won.

And thoroughly deserved to do both. They'll be coming to either Manchester City or Tottenham in the last four and they have earned the right to think that they could beat either!

    Superb.

That was a decent handball shout against Daley Blind to be honest but Ajax got away with it. They have been brilliant once again tonight, they have had 10 shots on goal in this second half.

Almost a brilliant fourth as Luis Suarez goes into the bag and gets the lob wedge out, dinking a lovely chip flat from the edge of the area, over David de Gea's head and landing on the roof of the net.
