    WOOOOF!

That is an absolute belter from Philippe Coutinho. Lionel Messi with the key pass this time, driving a ball out to Jordi Alba on the left. He brings the ball down and feeds Coutinho in that familiar pocket of space, left-hand side of the area, about 22 yards out. He scored so many from there for Liverpool so you know what's coming next.

Lean back a touch, open up the body and just curled into the top corner. Effortless class.

Better from United again as Paul Pogba breaks into the area but from a tight angle he can only shoot high and wide.

Marcus Rashford has made a couple of good runs and he has been the threat with his pace and his desire, but he will be disappointed not to take his early chance.

That is a good knock from Fred, direct and over the top of the Barca defence and Marcus Rashford is close to being in - but he doesn't get a foul and is blocked off.

Messi or Ronaldo, the true GOAT is Fred's agent for getting him a £50m move to Man Utd...Miraculous.

  6. GREAT SAVE!published at 54 mins

    Juventus 1-1 Ajax (2-2 agg)

A massive, massive glove from Wojciech Szczesny!

The Juventus goalkeeper makes himself big and gets a hand up to stop Hakim Ziyech's fierce rising shot from 15 yards out.

Like a polar bear's paw. Mighty. And it could be crucial in the final reckoning. More great football from Ajax though.

A reminder, should you need it, that the winners of this tie face the winners of Liverpool v Porto. Jurgen Klopp & Co in the Nou Camp? Could be immense.

A lot of ifs and buts between now and that tie happening of course...

Lionel Messi then plays a bad pass. Rubbish!

There are four Man Utd players around Lionel Messi and he still has the ball. It's poor. Come on United, what's up with you?

Barcelona 2-0 Man Utd (Agg: 3-0)

The very definitoin of 'Ole!' football from Lionel Messi!

Phil Jones pushes him in the back, he stays on his feet, he is surrounded by four men in pink but beats them all with a languid, mazy dribble into the corner, the crowd are loving it, Scott McTominay has a nibble and eventually Messi is fouled near the flag. A huge grin on his face. Loving life.

It would have been great to see Man Utd go through but this club needs a big clear out and it's a massive summer coming. They are miles off winning the Premier League and even further off winning the Champions League.

Philippe Coutinho comes to the party! Picking the ball up in the left channel he skins one man, twists the blood of Chris Smalling and gets into the area, he should get a shot away but goes for one more turn and Smalling can steer it behind for a corner.

Please go and see him while you can Gerard. And everyone, in fact. I've had the pleasure a few times and if you don't, you'll kick yourself when he does finally retire.

Got a few things I'm working through on my bucket list (mostly sporting) and just realised one of them should be getting to see Messi playing live before he retires. Pele was marvelous, Best, magical, always thought Cruyff was the best...then Maradona came along but Messi? Got to be the greatest ever.

    Cont'd...

So many times over the years he's produced moments that defy belief and again tonight. That turn that left Phil Jones (yes I know...Phil Jones but it could have been anyone) for dead. I've watched it three times now and I still don't know how he did it. Masterful.
