Very little mention of Erik Ten Hag in this hugely impressive Ajax run in the Champions League, credit where credit's due

    OH, filthy!

Dele Alli whips out an audacious backheel flick in the box to send the ball to Christian Eriksen on the left. He nods it back across goal but it's cleared.

    One for the highlights reel.

Another five minutes to go. No surprise it's a long stoppage time. But Tottenham want it to go quickly. This has been an awful half for them!

NLWP: What were the Spurs physios/doctor thinking allowing Vertonghen to go back on....they should be canned for that. It's clear he was struggling.

Matt: Can someone explain to me how when the referee asked the Spurs doctors if Vertonghen had a concussion they said he was perfectly fine to play, then not 5 seconds later he has to leave the pitch and almost collapses almost certainly because of concussion?

Paul: Spurs medical staff should be ashamed of themselves there...letting Vertonghen back on when he clearly wasn't with it at all...so much for concussion protocols

David Neres makes a run off the shoulder and Davinson Sanchez isn't sure if he's offside. He sprints back and makes a crucial sliding tackle in the box, but the flag then goes up.

Still find it so odd that they wait for the play to end before flagging it!

Who's had the fewest touches so far in the Spurs team?

That'll be Dele Alli - he's had eight so far. You can see all eight of them below.

Jan Vertonghen was in no condition to carry on after that very nasty aerial condition and actually had to be helped off.

Mauricio Pochettino has been pumping his fist into the palm of his hands urging his team to get into this game - Spurs cannot start to feel as if the fates are against them, not against this Ajax team.

Lucas Moura looks lively now! He's wriggling his way through but can't get past Joel Veltman. A few fans are jeering for a penalty but there's no way they're getting that - it's a good tackle.

    Corner to Spurs.

Lucas Moura immediately drives into the box on the right and has too much pace for the defenders. He gets to the backline but his cut-back is picked up by the keeper.

That injury has really shaken things up.

It's such a pity. You can see Jan Vertonghen wanted to get back on the pitch. They patched him up and he put his clean shirt on but he does not look good.

Oh no, this is not good at all. Jan Vertonghen signals to the sidelines straight away and he immediately heads back off.

He doesn't look good at all and he's supported as he throws up. Hopefully he'll be okay! On comes Moussa Sissoko.

Vertonghen's getting naked. He needs to change his shirt and shorts. He's at least hidden himself down the tunnel...

The referee just checks him over again before letting him back on - better safe than sorry! Huge cheers from the fans.

That stop in play may have just helped Spurs to calm down a little.

Jason: Ajax are young, fitter and are wonderful in possession. I told a mate yesterday I only worried they might freeze. An incredible force of nature. The stamina in the 2nd half will also be a factor like it was vs Juve

Femi: This is brilliant football! These Ajax boys are a joy to watch. Blind may be the ray of light for Spurs to get a goal.

Stuart: It's going to be one of the cruelest summers for Ajax if/when this team gets ripped apart. I'm loving this and they thoroughly deserve to be ahead

Dion Dublin may have been onto something. The Ajax keeper comes out flapping and he smashes Jan Vertonghen in the face.

The ball is loose but Victor Wanyama's shot is blocked. The referee then stops play as Vertonghen and Toby Alderweireld are on the floor. There's blood all over Vertonghen's face. Looks like he's broken his nose! Ouchy.

Christian Eriksen has better luck, skipping past Nicolas Tagliafico before being brought down late. He wins a free-kick and Tagliafico goes into the book.
