Dusan Tadic puts it onto his left foot and looks certain to shoot. He doesn't though, slipping it left to an unmarked David Neres.

Neres has so much time. He looks up and tries to pick out the far corner but it strikes back off the post!

Andre Onana is taking that long on goalkicks I could make a brew in between. The Spurs fans aren't happy about it and there's audible boos around the stadium.

Anything ref? Nope.

Fernando Llorente slides in to get a crucial touch on the ball in midfield. It sets off Christian Eriksen.

Danny Rose makes another darting run down the left but you're thinking "shooooooot" as Eriksen has so much space. He opts to slip it left but Rose' shot is blocked.

Donny van de Beek, Dusan Tadic and David Neres start to pass the ball around with some more whip.

They string together one, two, three passes, before it's cut-out in the box.

Dusan Tadic, who has been kept very quiet in the second half, shifts it onto his right foot to shoot but Toby Alderweireld stands his ground and gets a block in.

Dele Alli tries to find Danny Rose with a long, high ball over to the left. Rose is completely unmarked but keeper Andre Onana comes out to catch it.

Rose is just making run, after run, after run. Get it out to him. Give him the ball! He's in so much space.

When Ajax have had the ball, spurs have been in their faces. The visitors had all the time in the first half but it's been much better after the break.

I'd just like to see Kieran Trippier get a little closer to Dele Alli, just to give Daley Blind something to think about.

Moussa Sissoko looks like he wants to do something every time he has the ball. A quick drop of the shoulder and a smart turn sees him escape two players. He threads it through to Lucas Moura.

Danny Rose makes a run over to the left but Moura is like a juggernaut, running with his head down, and straight into a group of defenders.

A few signs of encouragement for Spurs although they are hardly laying siege to the Ajax goal - and the fans inside the stadium respond, although their frustration is audible as Kieran Trippier wastes another free-kick.

Spurs enjoying lots of possession but still this young Ajax side keeps its composure.

The crowd are getting behind Spurs now - they sense a momentum change. Danny Rose does well to cut back on the left and lifts a curling ball into the box.

Lucas Moura gets his head on it but can't inject any power. Getting the chances though!

This is just dreadful.

Kieran Trippier skews a free-kick way off target and it's a comfortable catch for Andre Onana in the Ajax goal.

Give the man a hug! He needs a confidence boost.

Frenkie de Jong astutely wins a free-kick off Moussa Sissoko in midfield and just tries to slow the tempo down a bit.

Spurs look far more energetic. Ajax are no longer controlling the possession either.

Moussa Sissoko and Danny Rose have been Tottenham's best players. Both are involved in another neat build-up but this time Kieran Trippier's cross is a poor one.

Zack: How poorly does Trippier need to play before Poch gives Kyle Walker-Peters a go? Kept De Beek onside for the goal, constantly caught out by Neres, and cannot place a cross or pass

Jason: Tottenham look like they are going to push and press but it will be foolish as they will be caught on the counter and Ajax's stamina will create huge chances.

Tottenham might not need to change anything if they keep going like this. They are just starting to find their groove.

Dele Alli, to Lucas Moura, to Kieran Trippier. The full-back then whips a ball into the box and Alli heads it over the bar. That was a chance and he should have done better!
