BBC Sport chief football writer in MadridTemperatures here in Madrid are scorchingly hot and these will be taxing conditions for Liverpool and Tottenham tonight.
Liverpool's superb Premier League campaign and the experience of playing in last season's Champions League final makes them favourites but Spurs may feel they are being fuelled by a sense of destiny after the way they just got out of their group then reached the final with Lucas Moura's last gasp goal against Ajax in Amsterdam.
One disturbing development to report - as if the half-and-half scarf was not bad enough we now have the half-and-half kit. Seriously?

Real Madrid were victorious in all-Spanish affairs in 2000 (Valencia), 2014 and 2016 (both Atletico) while AC Milan beat fellow Italian side Juventus on penalties in 2003 and Bayern Munich overcame Jurgen Klopp's Borussia Dortmund in the 2013 all-German final.
Also, of course, Manchester United beat Chelsea on penalties in 2008...
