From the following corner Olivier Giroud heads over from two yards out - but it was at a difficult angle and he was under pressure.

Dynamo Kiev 0-2 Chelsea (0-5 agg)

Dynamo Kiev striker Denys Harmash almost scores... into his own net. He meets Willian's corner but hooks his clearance towards his own goal - and just over the bar.

The ball drops to Olivier Giroud on the edge of the box and he lays it off to Callum Hudson-Odoi, whose shot is blocked.

Willian, Chelsea captain tonight, shouts for a free which doesn't come. Seconds later Dynamo's Viktor Tsygankov does the same. Ref must have lost his whistle.

Dynamo Kiev 0-2 Chelsea (0-5 agg)

This game is a textbook example of my half-baked idea that football teams should just be able to shake hands and finish the game if they both agree.

Not much more to play for for either side. Danger of Chelsea players getting hurt on a dodgy pitch - and Kiev are running the risk of being humiliated.

    Olivier Giroud

Nom nom nom. That's the sound of Olivier Giroud gobbling up Europa League goals. This is his eighth of the season.

Marcos Alonso finds Ruben Loftus-Cheek, who shows good strength to get past a player before playing it back to the left-back. Alonso looks up and plays a cross from deep which Giroud just casually sweeps past the keeper.

Dynamo Kiev 0-1 Chelsea (0-4 agg)

This is a pretty professional performance from Chelsea, who you feel could go up a gear or two if they needed to.

The Blues' offside trap is working well and Sidcley is flagged off.

Red Bull Salzburg 1-1 Napoli (agg: 1-4)

Red Bull Salzburg have to score another four goals to progress to the quarter-finals. But they have at least given themselves a chance of getting something out of this game with a quick equaliser from striker Moanes Dabour.

He is now the tournament's top scorer with eight.

It's still goalless in the other game between FK Krasnodar and Valencia.

Dynamo Kiev 0-1 Chelsea (0-4 agg)

Chelsea have a very strong bench so it's not like Maurizio Sarri can bring on any more youngsters. Ross Barkley probably the 'least experienced' option.

Another chance for the Blues but Olivier Giroud's chipped pass over the keeper can't find N'Golo Kante, who had done well in the build-up, or Willian.

A good switch of pace from Chelsea midfielder Ruben Loftus-Cheek to get past one man but he runs into another.

Dynamo have a free but Viktor Tsygankov just blasts it into the wall like he thought the Chelsea players might have been holograms. They aren't.

  13. DISALLOWED GOALpublished at 21 mins

Dynamo Kiev 0-1 Chelsea (0-4 agg)

As I say that Kiev have a goal disallowed. Denys Harmash runs in behind the Chelsea defence and clips the ball over Kepa.

But he was well offside. We wouldn't even have needed VAR if it was available.

This game is turning into a non-event really. The BBC football desk chat right now is about whether you say VAR as three letters or a word rhyming with car.

Not even the first time we've had that discussion. And there isn't even VAR in the Europa League.

Red Bull Salzburg 0-1 Napoli (agg: 0-4)

Napoli are cruising into the quarter-finals as they have just grabbed an away goal against Red Bull Salzburg. It's that man Arkadiusz Milik again with the goal.

Rob: Ruben Loftus-Cheek scuffs a header and it ends up being a nice assist for Olivier Giroud

Jon: Loads of Rennes fans outside Highbury and Islington. I hope Arsenal are buzzing as much as they are tonight.

Almost a second for Chelsea as Marcos Alonso picks out Ruben Loftus-Cheek in the box, he jinks past a couple of defenders and his low shot is palmed wide by Denys Boyko.
