Eintracht Frankfurt boss Adi Hutter hopes his side can stick to their gameplan like Liverpool did in Tuesday's Champions League comeback against Barcelona.

Hutter is friends with Reds boss Jurgen Klopp.

"He wished everything for Eintracht Frankfurt, and I did congratulate him for reaching the final.

"I watched the game and I was really absolutely enamoured with this match.

"If you really believe in something it shows you can put that across to your team.

"His team played really fantastically; they showed passion, they were really brave and had that little bit of luck.

"His team played the way they had all year, and I hope that's what my team can do.

"Everything is possible. The favourite is Chelsea but once you get this far you want to get into the final."

Valencia v Arsenal (20:00 BST, 1-3 first leg)

Valencia coach Marcelino says his side can take inspiration from Liverpool's comeback against Barcelona.

The last team to lose the first leg of a Uefa Cup/Europa League semi-final by two or more goals and go through was Espanyol against Club Brugge in 1988.

"The game at Anfield demonstrates that anything can happen," said Marcelino.

"It's a lesson that tells us if we play to our maximum we'll have the chance to make it to the final.

"Every game is different and just because Liverpool beat Barcelona it doesn't mean we have to knock out Arsenal, but if we do pull it off it's because we believed we could be in the final."

Chelsea owe it to Eden Hazard to let him leave. He has been a great servant for the club and they have to respect his wishes.

Chelsea are a business, so selling him will be great for the revenues but they have to get into the Champions League the following year. They have bought Christian Pulisic but he is not as good as Hazard.

jamirpu: A strong Arsenal line-up. Looking forward to it, I am expecting lots of goals.

  6. Good omens for Chelseapublished at 19:39 British Summer Time 9 May 2019

All four of the previous teams to draw the first leg of a Europa League semi-final away from home went on to progress to the final, most recently Atletico Madrid against Arsenal last season.

Chelsea are unbeaten in their last 16 Europa League games, the longest such run since it was rebranded in 2009-10.

Chelsea have never lost a home game against German opponents (won seven, drew two), keeping a clean sheet in seven of nine.

Unai Emery has been left with an ageing squad by Arsene Wenger. A squad that is not good enough from in my opinion from midfield to back.

It will be interesting to see who plays on the right of defence. Granit Xhaka splits opinion, he is a frustrating player to watch because you're taught from a youngster to track your runners, he doesn't spot any danger behind him whatsoever.

I like Emery's thought process. He could have gone quite defensive, but he's been bold and brave going with Alexandre Lacazette, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Mesut Ozil. Those three guys will be so important for Arsenal.

  8. 'The tie is not over'published at 19:37 British Summer Time 9 May 2019

    Valencia v Arsenal (20:00 BST, 1-3 agg)

    BBC Radio 5 Live

Speaking to BBC Radio 5 Live, former Arsenal and England defender Matthew Upson said: "The standards have been set this week in the greatest comeback week of all time. After looking at the first leg, you just feel Arsenal had a few opportunity to extend their advantage. We all know about their away form and the tie is definitely not over."

On Arsenal's season: "If you step back for a moment and look at the season as a whole, we have seen how difficult it has been for clubs to lose long-reigning managers, and I think he has had a lot of stability this season. They have had decent runs and to be challenging for the top four and a European trophy is a positive."

Score prediction: "I think Arsenal will lose the game but they will score and go through on away goals."

  9. Good omens for Arsenalpublished at 19:36 British Summer Time 9 May 2019

Including finals, Arsenal manager Unai Emery has won his past 18 Europa League knockout ties, last being eliminated from the competition in the 2011-12 semi-finals - with Valencia.

Arsenal have never lost a European tie in which they won the first leg by two or more goals, progressing from all 27.

Only five of the 28 teams to lose the first leg of a Uefa Cup/Europa League semi-final by two or more goals have ended up progressing.

I bumped into Kieran Trippier after the Tottenham game walking around the pitch and he was emotional.

I asked him what Mauricio Pochettino had said at half-time and he said 'we might never get this chance again in our career and that we just had to go for it'.

  12. 'Europa League is getting more attractive'published at 19:30 British Summer Time 9 May 2019

    Valencia v Arsenal (20:00 BST, 1-3 agg)

Arsenal manager Unai Emery has won the Europa League three times before - with Sevilla in 2014, 2015 and 2016.

"It's an attractive title and it's getting more attractive," said the Spaniard, who has also managed tonight's opponents.

"I first competed for this title when it was still the Uefa Cup and was a lesser title than it is now.

"It has grown and I have seen that shift. Giving teams a Champions League place through the Europa League is a fair reward and it's a title they all want to win.

"It's an important title for those teams not in the Champions League - and for some who drop into it as a second chance, like Valencia did this season."

Valencia v Arsenal (20:00 BST, 1-3 first leg)

    John Southall
BBC Radio 5 live football reporter at Mestalla

This is some place. Thousands lined the streets around the Mestalla to welcome the Valencia team bus, it was smoke-filled bedlam around the stadium that’s carved into the middle of the city. When the Arsenal team stepped off their coach the noise was deafening. This will be hostile and intimidating.

It will be interesting to see how Arsenal approach this, will they be on the front foot from the start and look for that decisive away goal ? The line-up suggests they will be with Ozil, Lacazette and Aubameyang in the front three.

Tom, Arsenal fan: Am beyond nervous for this game, especially given our form at the moment away from home. Stakes now absolutely massive given tonight is the only way we can give ourselves the opportunity to get Champions League next year and even more pressure following a certain devastating result last night for all Arsenal (and I'm sure Chelsea) fans. COYG.

Paul, Luton: It would be hugely ironic if both Chelsea and Arsenal failed to make the final after being in control from the first leg. Whereas Liverpool and Spurs by all accounts were going out. You never know, do you, especially after the last two nights.

Nathanael Fowler: I can't see Arsenal not conceding at least 3 goals tonight, got a feeling it's going to be a night of continental comebacks.

    Stephen Warnock
Ex-Liverpool defender on Radio 5 Live

I don't know what the best moment this week has been.

The winning goal at Liverpool was the strangest sensation. I was on the Kop and when the goal went in it was like 'what's just happened here?' because nobody believed Liverpool were going to be 4-0 up after 75 minutes, go on to win 4-0 and do it so comfortably.

Last night at half-time I was thinking Ajax are in the final and I totally wrote Tottenham off. It was strange seeing them all run into the corner and then seeing the subs have to walk back round while the game restarted.
