I'm going to sound like I'm being harsh on England but they've wasted so many chances tonight. Even there as England break three on three, Parris should play in Williams but instead goes wide to Daly and the ball is deflected straight to the keeper.

England could have nicked it. A weak backpass from Australia's Stephanie Catley puts through Rachel Daly, who pokes it past the keeper and towards Nikita Parris before the visitors scramble clear.

We said it in the first half, you can end up kicking yourself after 90 minutes if you don't take your chances.

Australia have had to build into this game, they've not really created much but they nearly scored off the last corner, they should of learnt when the second corner comes in but they don't and they score.

    Un. Bel. Iev. Able.

The corner is swung in from the right and Clare Polkinghorne loses her marker to thump in a free header.

Someone fetch Fergie's hairdryer. Phil Neville will be plugging it in at full-time.

What a save! England keeper Mary Earps has to be alert to tip over a shot from Australia's Ellie Carpenter.

But the danger is not over yet. Corner...

Parris is still fuming at the ref! She's showed great pace to get down the side of the defender there and that's stonewall.

Phil Neville has every right to be angry, that's two that they should of had, I'm still shocked from the one not given in the first half!

If Phil Neville becomes any angrier with that decision then he is going to go green and turn into the Incredible Hulk.

  10. PENALTY APPEALpublished at 81 mins

    England 1-0 Australia

Nikita Parris charges after a quick ball forward faster than a greyhound chasing a rabbit, reaching it first before an Australian defender hacks her down.

Clear penalty. Unless you're the match officials at Craven Cottage.

How have they not given that?!

Williams is on for number 170 and I don't think she'll be slowing down anytime soon.

I don't think I was ever going to catch her!

She's always been that player that can see the picture before the balls played to her, she's the one who can thread the ball through to the likes of Kirby and Daly.

    England 1-0 Australia

England are still playing with an intensity which Australia are struggling to contain, but you still feel the visitors might have that one sniff of goal which could prove costly for the Lionesses.

A second goal much earlier this evening would have nuked any threat of that.

    England 1-0 Australia

Fran Kirby may end up being the matchwinner, but the scorer of the game's only goal won't have the chance to add to her tally.

The England forward is given a breather, with record caps holder Fara WIlliams given a chance to impress.

Are we going to see any more goals from this England team tonight?! Another chance goes begging...

Final ball! That's what England are lacking at the moment. Alex Greenwood's low cross fails to pick out a team-mate in the box.

Australia free-kick on the right. The tall defenders go forward... but England clear and pile forward on the counter...

Ahhh, the fearlessness of youth. Australia's 15-year-old sub Mary Fowler drops into a pocket of space about 25 yards and doesn't think twice about pinging an effort at goal. Bit too much beef on that one as the ball rises over the England bar.

Positive play from Parris she drives into the box and commits the defender, her end product needs to be better there as she shoots out of play.
