GOAL: Millwall 0-1 Wiganpublished at 20:35 British Summer Time 23 October 2018

    Jed Wallace og (45+2 mins)

Right at the end of the first half, Wigan take the lead.

A free-kick is swung in from wide on the right, and deflects into the net off Lions midfielder Jed Wallace.

He seemed to lose the flight of the ball as Kal Naismith got a touch on it, and Ben Amos couldn't react in time to keep it out.

  6. HALF-TIMEpublished at 20:34 British Summer Time 23 October 2018

    Birmingham 0-0 Reading

Plenty of endeavour but no goals to show from this one at St Andrew's.

Reading shading it on the stats, Liam Kelly hit the post, but the better chances at the end of the half were starting fall Birmingham's way, with smart defending needed to keep them out.

    In the balance this one.

    Sheff Utd 0-0 Stoke City

    Joe AllenImage source, PA

Sheffield United have shaded this first 45 at Bramall Lane, as Stoke City have been largely on the back foot.

The Blades might have scored had it not been for some timely interventions by goalkeeper Jack Butland, with David McGoldrick thwarted and Mark Duffy also frustrated.

Stoke City have had their purple patch too, in their violet-shaded kit, but nothing too troubling for Dean Henderson - Saido Berahino having the best of it for the Potters.

  9. HALF-TIMEpublished at 20:32 British Summer Time 23 October 2018

    Middlesbrough 0-0 Rotherham Utd

Both sides have been indebted to their goalkeepers for big saves, Darren Randolph and Marek Rodak, take a bow lads.

Boro have been the more inventive and adventurous, creating more chances in that opening 45, with Martin Braithwaite denied.

The Millers have been brilliantly organised, set up to contain and frustrate. Ryan Williams wasn't far away with his effort either. Decent.

    James ChesterImage source, PA

Dean Smith's Villa have the lead at the break through James Chester's header.

Norwich midfielder Tom Trybull, who got the decisive touch, will be hoping the dubious goals panel allow the Villa centre-back to keep it.

Villa are heading up to seventh as it stands.

  14. Postpublished at 20:29 British Summer Time 23 October 2018

    Middlesbrough 0-0 Rotherham Utd

Martin Braithwaite does his best spinning Karate kick to send the ball towards goal from six yards out and again it's up and over the top, just. Rotherham can breathe easily for now.

The odds are shortening on a Boro opener, though.

  15. Postpublished at 20:27 British Summer Time 23 October 2018

    Middlesbrough 0-0 Rotherham Utd

How on earth have Boro not scored there? They did all the hard work around the penalty area again, but as a ball across the penalty rolled inviting, somehow Martin Braithwaite overran it and it trickled behind him.

They're knocking on the door, and the Millers are battening the hatches.

  17. Postpublished at 20:26 British Summer Time 23 October 2018

    Sheff Utd 0-0 Stoke City

Leon Clarke is inches away... Sheffield United pin Stoke back inside their own 18-yard box on the back of a corner, and another teasing cross zips across the six-yard area, Jack Butland is rooted to the spot.

It all came from a fine Butland save to deny Mark Duffy, whose header was directed toward the back of the net.

Who has the key to unlocking this game?

    League One & Two latest

Shock - Portsmouth are in front. Oliver Hawkins heads the runaway League One leaders ahead at home to Burton.

Plymouth's Freddie Ladapo has his second of the night, heading Argyle into a 2-0 lead against Gillingham in League One, and he could be lifting his side off the bottom of the table.

Meanwhile, a decent first half for Northampton, it's fair to say. The Cobblers are 3-0 up at Macclesfield in League Two, with Matt Crooks scoring twice and Daniel Powell adding a third.

    Middlesbrough 0-0 Rotherham Utd

If you were looking at the form book, you'd say this should be routine for Middlesbrough but Rotherham are making it anything but right now.

Will Vaulks, who spanked a beauty at Bolton on the weekend from a free-kick, had a dig which went well wide.

Boro are playing some neat football and enjoying success in wide areas but no goals to show for it.
