  3. Lincoln riding high in League Twopublished at 19:38 British Summer Time 23 October 2018

    League Two preview

League Two leaders Lincoln start today's round of fixtures with a four-point cushion at the top of the table. The Imps are at home to Carlisle, while second-placed Exeter are away at Crawley.

Fresh from ending a run of 36 league matches without a win - albeit stretching back to their last spell in the EFL - Macclesfield Town host Northampton.

A second successive victory could even take the Silkmen out of the relegation zone, depending on how fellow strugglers Cambridge and Cheltenham get on in their respective matches at Swindon and Oldham.

Here is tonight's full fixture list:

    • Bury v Newport
    • Crawley v Exeter
    • Forest Green v Tranmere
    • Grimsby v Colchester
    • Lincoln v Carlisle
    • Macclesfield v Northampton
    • MK Dons v Notts County
    • Morecambe v Mansfield
    • Oldham v Cheltenham
    • Stevenage v Port Vale
    • Swindon v Cambridge
    • Yeovil v Crewe
  4. Pompey bells keep chimingpublished at 19:36 British Summer Time 23 October 2018

    League One preview

League One leaders Portsmouth will be looking to extend their advantage at the top of the table tonight.

Pompey, who have won four of their last five and have lost just once in the league this season, host mid-table Burton.

Second-placed Peterborough are three points behind the south-coast club and welcome Fleetwood, while third-placed Sunderland go to Doncaster.

At the bottom, bottom club Plymouth entertain Gillingham and AFC Wimbledon, in 21st, travel to Bristol Rovers, who are one place above them.

The Dons have lost their last four while Rovers have failed to score in their last five. That could be one for the purists.

Here are tonight's games in full, which all kick off at 19:45 BST:

    • Blackpool v Scunthorpe
    • Bradford v Coventry
    • Bristol Rovers v AFC Wimbledon
    • Charlton v Oxford

    • Luton v Accrington
    • Peterborough v Fleetwood

  6. Harris bemoans toothless Lionspublished at 19:30 British Summer Time 23 October 2018

    Wigan v Millwall (19:45 BST)

Struggling Millwall fell to a 3-1 defeat at Reading on Saturday to fall back into the Championship relegation zone.

Lions boss Neil Harris was unequivocal on how his side transpired to come away with no points from the Madejski Stadium.

"Why did we lose? Ultimately, because we didn't take more than one of the 24 chances that we created. You're probably looking at 14 clear-cut chances and I'd say six sitters."

He'll be hoping they show an improved cutting edge against a Wigan side fresh off the back of an impressive 1-0 win over promotion hopefuls West Brom.

  7. Slipping Swans face resurgent Roverspublished at 19:28 British Summer Time 23 October 2018

    Swansea v Blackburn (19:45 BST)

This is the first league meeting between these two sides since 2012.

Swansea recorded a 3-0 win at the Liberty Stadium as Rovers suffered relegation from the Premier League.

It's been a rocky road for Rovers since then and they were relegated to League One in 2016-17 before winning promotion last season.

Successive victories have lifted them up to seventh in the table and a win tonight would lift them back into the top six.

Swansea, relegated to the Championship last season, had made a solid start to the season but are now without a win in three.

QPR v Sheff Weds (19:45 BST)

Sheffield Wednesday have enjoyed a strong start to the Championship campaign.

Five wins and four draws from their opening 13 league games mean they go into today's matches knowing a win could send them back into the top six.

However, in a strange case of nominative determinism, it turns out Wednesday really don't like playing on Tuesday. The Owls have lost their past five games played on a Tuesday.

Looking to capitalise on Wednesday's Tuesday hoodoo are a QPR side who have taken seven points from their previous three games.

  9. In-form Blues looking uppublished at 19:24 British Summer Time 23 October 2018

    Birmingham v Reading (19:45 BST)

Birmingham might be in the bottom half of the Championship right now but, if recent form is anything to go by, they wont be for much longer.

Garry Monk's men haven't lost since 22 August and have won three of their past five matches.

They host a Reading side who registered their first home league win since April with a 3-1 success over Millwall on Saturday.

The Royals have beaten Blues this season though, recording a 2-0 win in the Carabao Cup first round.

  10. Klose Norwich's not-so-secret weaponpublished at 19:22 British Summer Time 23 October 2018

Norwich v Aston Villa (19:45 BST)

Norwich defender Timm Klose has enjoyed a pretty dramatic month so far.

First he scored his side's goal in their 1-1 draw at Derby, then he put through his own net to consign them to defeat by Stoke and on Saturday he bagged a double to give the Canaries all three points at Nottingham Forest.

They face an Aston Villa side who registered a victory in Dean Smith's first game in charge on Saturday thanks to Tammy Abraham's header against Swansea.

The Villans have won seven of their past 10 games against Norwich, but have lost on each of their past three visits to Carrow Road - where Villa assistants John Terry and Richard O'Kelly have already been sizing up the playing surface.

  11. Pulis remains grounded despite lofty positionpublished at 19:20 British Summer Time 23 October 2018

    Middlesbrough v Rotherham (19:45 BST)

"We've won a game of football, that's all. People get too carried away when you win and too carried away when you lose."

Middlesbrough might have gone top of the table with victory at Sheffield Wednesday on Friday but boss Tony Pulis certainly wasn't getting carried away.

Boro, who have conceded just seven times in 13 Championship matches this season, host a Rotherham side without a win since 15 September.

  12. Blades welcome Potters to fortress Bramall Lanepublished at 19:17 British Summer Time 23 October 2018

Sheff Utd v Stoke (19:45 BST)

Second-placed Sheffield United have trailed for a sum total of five minutes at home this season.

The Blades fell to a 2-1 defeat by Swansea on the opening day of the season courtesy of Yan Dhanda's 85th-minute strike and have gone on to win four and draw one of their subsequent five home games.

They welcome a Stoke side who will be smarting after Saturday's 1-0 defeat by Birmingham City.

Manager Gary Rowett will watch this one from the stands as he is serving a one-game touchline ban following his sending-off during the Blues match.

  13. New father Tettey misses out for Norwichpublished at 19:14 British Summer Time 23 October 2018

Norwich v Aston Villa (19:45 BST)

For those wondering why Alex Tettey is missing from Norwich's line-up this evening...

Here are the team news headlines for tonight's seven Championship games...

Middlesbrough have brought forward Martin Braithwaite into the squad, with Paddy McNair also added to the starting XI, while injuries force Rotherham to make three additions in Zak Vyner, Clark Robertson and Ryan Manning.

Norwich bring Tom Trybull and Emi Buendia into the squad for the visit of Aston Villa, who bring in Conor Hourihane and Glenn Whelan in for their two changes.

Leon Clarke for Billy Sharp is Sheffield United's only change, while Stoke City follow suit with Saido Berahino in for Bojan Krkic.

Birmingham City have swapped Jacques Maghoma for Connor Mahoney, with Reading adding Jon Dadi Bodvarsson and Josh Sims to their side to face the Blues.

QPR are unchanged following their weekend win at Ipswich, but Sheffield Wednesday have a new back-four for the trip to Loftus Road amid a host of changes.

Swansea restore ex-Rovers midfielder Matt Grimes to the squad as one of five changes, Blackburn Rovers keep faith with the same team that got an impressive win against Leeds.

Millwall are unchanged from their weekend loss at Reading, while Wigan make three changes, with James Vaughan, Kal Naismith and Callum Connolly added to the side from their weekend success against West Brom.

  16. Boro back on toppublished at 19:00 British Summer Time 23 October 2018

It was a perfect weekend for Championship leaders Middlesbrough.

Tony Pulis' side registered a 2-1 win at Sheffield Wednesday on Friday to go top of the league and then sat with their feet up on Saturday as Leeds, West Bromwich Albion and Sheffield United all lost.

With the Baggies and the Whites, in third and fourth respectively, not playing until Wednesday they'll be targeting tonight's game against struggling Rotherham as a chance to extend their lead at the top.
